Tweet Him Up! Kobe Bryant Finally On Twitter….

Kobe Bryant is no longer a holdout. He’s on Twitter.

With five words — “The antisocial has become social” — the Los Angeles Lakers guard sent the first tweet from his account Friday. About 270,000 people followed his verified account, @kobebryant, within a few hours and he was up to 365,000 late Friday night as the Lakers played the Clippers.

Bryant tiptoed into the Twitterverse last week when he briefly took over Nike basketball’s account, when he sent out things like a photo of him hanging out with his daughter, an ice bath that he was dreading and even a suit he was wearing to a particular game.

Bryant says those few days made him consider starting his own account, saying he enjoyed connecting with fans “with no filters.”

Heat star LeBron James has 6.8 million followers, the most of any NBA player.

Tsunami Warning Cancelled for Alaska after 7.5 Mag Quake

A tsunami warning was canceled early Saturday for portions of British Columbia, Canada, and southeastern Alaska, officials said.

A wave generated by a strong earthquake off Alaska isn’t strong enough to produce damaging effects. The Alaska Tsunami Warning Center says a tsunami warning issued after the quake has been canceled. The magnitude 7.5 quake struck about 60 miles west of Craig, Alaska. The police chief in Craig says houses shook, but there were no reports of injuries. The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake was followed by six aftershocks. The strongest registered a 5.1 and came nearly four hours after the initial quake.

(POLL) CT: Is Gun Control the Answer? Vote and Comment Here!

WASHINGTON (AP) — The question surfaces each time a mass murder unfolds: Will this one change the political calculus in Washington against tougher gun control?

The answer was “no” after the Virginia Tech killings, the attempted assassination of Gabby Giffords, the Colorado movie-theater attack, the Wisconsin Sikh temple shootings, and more.

But now?

The massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., stands as a possible tipping point after Washington’s decade-long aversion even to talking about stricter gun laws.

President Barack Obama says it’s time for the country to come together and “take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics.”

It remains to be seen whether Sandy Hook will break the usual cycle of universal shock fading into political reality.

What do YOU think? Is Gun Control the answer? Or is the problem deeper than that? Let us know!
