James Lee Keller, 68, of North Platte, died at his home on March 28, 2018. Cremation was chosen. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Episcopal Church of Our Savior with Father Jeffrey Nelson officiating. Internment will follow in the Hyannis Cemetery.

Enid Marlene LaRue
Enid Marlene LaRue, age 96 of Sutherland, passed away Thursday August 9, 2018 at Sutherland Care Center.
Enid was born June 29, 1922 in North Platte, NE to Alfred Jess and Gertie Maude (Calkins) Anderson. She graduated from McPherson County High School in 1941 and then moved to North Platte. She married Archie Ridenour on October 28, 1941 and to this union 3 children were born, Rodney, Rosalee Kay and Marilyn Rae. She married Frank “Bud” Larue on January 28, 1956. Enid was an independent person with a strong work ethic who was always taking care of her family.
Enid is survived by her husband Bud of Sutherland, NE; son Rodney (Karen) Ridenour of Sutherland, NE; grandchildren Eric Ridenour of Thedford, Rogina Ridenour of North Platte, Candi Myers of North Platte, and Trevor (Amber) Perkins of Oceanside, CA; 10 great- and several step-great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Gertie Anderson; daughters Rosalee Kay and Marilyn Rae; and brothers Jack, Leon, Keith, Gene and Neil, who was killed in action during WWII; and sister Iris.

Robert Floyd Sheets
Robert Floyd Sheets, age 88 of North Platte, passed away Thursday August 9, 2018 at Great Plains Health.
Robert was born July 11, 1930 in Arnold, NE to Sherman and Grace (Bassett) Sheets. His family moved to North Platte when he was 10 years old and he attended Roosevelt Grade School, then Cody Grade School, moving on to the 7th and 8th grade Junior High School in downtown North Platte, and finally to North Platte Senior High School. He married Joan Cornell on August 8, 1948 and to this union 3 children were born, Patricia Kay, Susan Joan, and James Robert. He worked for Krispy Krust Bakery for a year and then went to work for Sunshine Dairy, later known as Fairmont’s, and stayed for 27 years. In 1972, Robert married Margaret “Maggie” Long in Stapleton, NE. In 1976 he went into partnership with Bob Carpenter, purchasing Frontier Resort, where he worked until his retirement in 1992. Robert, known as Bob to many who knew him, was active in the Frontier Resort Association. He enjoyed life at the lake and helping others. His interests and hobbies included woodworking, collecting antique wrenches and tools, gardening, and traveling. He made friends all over the United States when he went to antique and tool shows.
Bob is survived by his children Patricia Nitsch of Omaha, NE, Susan Atchison of Denver, CO, James (Ruth) Sheets of North Platte; grandchildren Justin (Sandra) Nitsch, Travis (Maddie) Nitsch, Tyler Nitsch, Felicia (Ty) Harrison, Angie (Doug) Garcia, Jade Atchison, Aspen Atchison, Jim Jr. (DeAnna) Sheets, Mike (Katie) Sheets; 15 great grandchildren; brothers Dee Sheets, Larry (Donice) Sheets; sister-in-law Martha Houpt; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie; parents Sherm and Grace Sheets; sister Sally Jochum; brother Darrell Sheets; mother and father-in-law Allen and Victoria Long; sisters-in-law Patricia Sheets and Marjean Main.

Barbara Jean Mares
Barbara Jean Mares, 81, of North Platte, NE, passed away at Great Plains Health on Thursday, August 9, 2018.
Barbara was born in Cheyenne, WY, on January 12, 1937, to James and Lena (Logan) Waggoner. She grew up in Cheyenne where she attended Catholic school.
On October 16, 1954, Barbara was united in marriage to Jack Larry Mares in Cheyenne and the couple was blessed with four children. They lived in Cheyenne until Jack was transferred to North Platte with his job on the railroad. Barbara stayed home with the children and enjoyed being a mother and wife.
She liked going to the theater and had traveled extensively. She also helped with many dinners at Holy Spirit Catholic Church and loved eating out. Barbara played in two card groups and enjoyed spending time with her friends, the Angel Group. She belonged to Without a Spouse and Golden Girls and recently rejoined St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Barbara is survived by her children, Mark (Deanna) Mares, of Hollywood Beach, CA, Debra (Steve) Shaner, of Manhattan, KS, Patti (Homer) Bartholomew, of North Platte and Michelle Mares (Jim Abrahamson), of West Warwick, RI; grandson, Adam Shaner, of Valhalla, NY; brothers, James, Jr. and Richard Waggoner; as well as other family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and parents, James, Sr. and Lena Waggoner.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2018, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Josh Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Fort McPherson National Cemetery. The casket will be closed. The memorial book may be signed at odeanchapel.com. or prior to services at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Goodfellow Shoe Fund.
