crop is in good or excellent condition. The Agriculture Department says livestock producers are watching

Lake McConaughy Releases Reduced

The Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District is reducing releases from Lake McConaughy as Colorado rains threaten more flooding along the Platte River. The district announced Friday that releases would be reduced by about 500 cubic feet per second. On Saturday, water flowing from the lake was measured at 4,662 cfs. The district says heavy rains in the South Platte River basin in Colorado have increased the risk of flooding along the Platte River south of North Platte. District engineer Cory Steinke said that flows could be quickly increased if there is heavy rain near the lake or if more water isn’t drawn for irrigation.

Inmates helped to sweep water into the drains. Hanka said no serious damage was done to the building.
