AppleNEW YORK (AP) — Taylor Swift is releasing a live concert special from her star-studded “1989 World Tour” exclusively on Apple Music.

The pop star announced Sunday, on her 26th birthday, that she will release the “The 1989 World Tour LIVE” on the streaming platform on Dec. 20. It will not be available for purchase, but it is free for streaming for Apple Music users.

The concert features Swift’s performance taped in Sydney, Australia. It will also include special appearances from Justin Timberlake, Mick Jagger, Kobe Bryant and others.

Omaha Police Charge 15-Year-Old in Double Homicide

jailOMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Omaha police have made three arrests in the shooting deaths of two teens and now say those deaths are not connected to a killing last month.

Police arrested a 15-year-old boy Friday on a charge of first-degree murder in Wednesday’s fatal shooting of 18-year-old James Star and 17-year-old Brandon Phelps. Police also arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of conspiracy and of being an accessory. Both teens were taken to a juvenile holding center.

The Associated Press typically does not name juveniles charged with crimes.

Eighteen-year-old Warren Anderson was booked Friday into the Douglas County jail on an accessory count.

Investigators say Star and Phelps were shot in a black SUV that had been at the site of a fatal Nov. 28 shooting, but that the shootings weren’t related.

Ineffective Trial Lawyer Gives Nebraska Man New Shot at Case

ne-supreme-courtOMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A Nebraska man serving time for sexual assault is getting another shot at his case after the state Supreme Court cited his lawyer’s failure to object to the remarks of a prosecutor who had promised to remain silent during the man’s sentencing hearing.

The high court Friday reversed the second-degree sexual assault conviction and 18- to 20-year prison sentence of a 45-year-old Lincoln man who had pleaded guilty to the charge in 2009. The plea was part of a deal to avoid a first-degree child sexual assault charge after police said the man had sexually abused his young daughter.

The Associated Press is not naming the man to protect his daughter’s identity.

The man can now chose to withdraw his guilty plea or have a different judge sentence him.

Wind Destroys Nebraska Church Being Rebuilt After Tornado

pilger-tornado-junePILGER, Neb. (AP) — Strong winds have destroyed a northeast Nebraska church that was being rebuilt after a devastating tornado.

The Norfolk Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1Z34DqA ) that St. John’s Lutheran Church was hit by the winds Wednesday evening. The building was under construction after being destroyed in June 2014 by a powerful tornado.

Project Superintendent Don Thiesen says winds estimated at more than 60 mph brought down the building’s north and south walls, its rafters and interior walls.

Thiesen and three other workers were in the building around 6:30 p.m. and retreated to safety.

Thiesen says trusses have been reordered, and the project’s construction firm is waiting on approval from its insurance company to proceed.
