Anne L. McCracken, 79, of North Platte, passed away July 27, 2015 at Great Plains Health. She was born July 30, 1935 to Homer and Arvelyn (Olson) Hinton at Cody, NE, with Anne’s great grandmother, Anna Bohman assisting. Anne grew up south of Cody on a ranch and attended District 46, Cody grade and Cody High School, graduating with the class of 53. She went on to Chadron State College earning a Bachelor’s Degree. Anne taught school for 45 years at various schools in Nebraska ending her career at Adams Middle School. She was a Silver Star Alpha Delta Kappa and Beta Sigma PHI. On August 20, 1960, she was united in marriage to Richard McCracken at Chadron, NE. They had two sons, Gary and Bruce McCracken. She was a member of Episcopal Church of Our Savior. Anne enjoyed playing bridge, camping, fishing and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and grandparents. She leaves behind her sons, Gary (Becky) McCracken of Broken Bow and Bruce (Kay) McCracken of Gering; a sister, Karen (Hinton) Gere of Littleton, CO; grandchildren, Brenton McCracken, Sarah Heckenlively, Heather (Troy) Rask, David McCracken and Shelby (Kara) McCracken; great grandchildren, Wyatt and Reagan Heckenlively, Tristen, Alyssa, Aaralyn, Urwin, Kaine and Tucker McCracken; and a friend, Al Gordon. Anthony Tony Anderson died unexpectedly on July 20th 2015 at his home in Aurora Colorado, at the age of 38.

Tony is survived by his wife Shurie, Father, Gary and Step Mother, Brenda of North Platte Nebraska, his 5 brothers, Jeff of Aurora CO, Allan of St. Louis Missouri, Danny Joe of Omaha Nebraska, Chris of Lincoln Nebraska and Ryan of North Platte Nebraska.

He is preceded in death by his mother Rose Ann Anderson in 1998.

Tony was born on February 4th 1977 in North Platte Nebraska to Gary and Rose Ann Anderson. He graduated from North Platte Saint Patricks High School in 1995. Tony and Shurie married September 26th 2009. Tonys was a highly skilled technician in the fire protection Industry, holding a variety of high level certifications. During his career he worked with Nebraska Safety and Fire and most recently with Fire Inspection Services of Wheat Ridge CO. Tony is most known for his laugh, smile and constant jokes bringing constant joy to those around him.

A funeral is scheduled for August 3rd, 2015 at 11:30 AM at Archdiocese of Denver Mortuary, 12801 West 44th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. Inurnment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, with a reception after Interment to be held at Westwoods Golf Course, 6655 Quaker Street, Arvada CO 80007. A very special family friend Jerry Young will be officiating the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Tonys life.

 

Earlyne L. Biggs, age 83, of North Platte, passed away July 26, 2015 at Great Plains Health. She was the last child born of Chris and Pauline Detlefsen in Arnold, NE on September 29, 1931. She attended grade school in Gandy and then the family moved to Stapleton, where she finished high school in 1949. After high school, Earlyne moved to North Platte and started working for Berg Typewriter Company, as a secretary and later worked for Northwestern Public Service Gas Company as a cashier and secretary. Earlyne then decided to attend North Platte Beauty College and worked as a hairdresser at the Pawnee Beauty Salon. She moved to California and married Donald S. Biggs at the Presbyterian Church in Las Vegas, NV on Sept. 9, 1960. She owned her own salon in California for a while, then worked for Merle Norman Cosmetics in downtown Los Angeles as an instructor, at the home office for many years, and also managed a couple studios in the Orange County area. She and Don moved around a lot, as Don was a contractor and built many homes, apartments and office buildings from Palm Springs, CA to Santa Barbara, CA. Earlyne loved to play cards, going to the beach, crafts, golf and spending time with her friends and family. They moved back to North Platte in 2001 and Don built the last apartment building for Sandridge Apartments. They joined the First United Methodist Church in North Platte, where she loved to play cards with the Prime Time Women of the Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2005; sisters, Ruby (Graceton) Philpot, Edna (Harry) Springmeyer, and Gloria Smith; brothers, Vern (Virginia) and Ray (Jeanie) Detlefsen; and a special niece, Karen McCan. She is survived by her nieces, Barb Detlefsen of Omaha, Lewellyn (Derb) Frey of Stapleton, Pat Yates of New Mexico and Lori Ferguson of Central City; nephews, Ron (Teresa) Detlefsen of Lake Maloney and Robbi (Shelley) Smith of Arnold and brother-in-law, Bobbie Smith of Arnold. Barbara (Peterson) Allbery, 80, of North Platte, passed away on June 13th, 2015, in Lincoln, surrounded by her family.
Barbara was the daughter of Clarence & Evelyn Peterson; born on March 29th, 1935. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1953. She then married and had three daughters, Marlene, Sharlene & Julie.
Barbara was blessed with musical talent and was a member of the Octect in High School, sang and played the piano and organ in numerous weddings for family and friends and was the Music Director at Trinity Chapel in Rokeby and Lakeview Methodist in Capitol Beach. Barbara also loved entertaining patrons with her organ playing at Lees’ Restaurant and spent much time leading 4H groups focusing on music and sewing.
Around 1967, Barbara began working for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, where she met her second husband, Dwight Allbery. In 1971, Barbara & Dwight married and moved to North Platte, NE where they had two daughters, Rachelle & Rhonda. They made their home in North Platte for 41 years.
Barbara continued playing the organ and piano for weddings, church services and funerals, as well as assisting 4H groups with sewing projects and musical competitions. She and Dwight loved to travel and visited Colorado, Alaska, Hawaii, Newfoundland, New York, Arizona and British Columbia, as well as numerous other locations across the US.
Another passion of Barb’s was her gardening and she was known for her beautiful flowers, especially her iris. She was also an extremely talented seamstress, making wedding and prom dresses for friends and family, creating an outfit in a day for a big event and costumes and outfits for her daughter’s 4H and dance competitions.
Barbara found another avenue to showcase her creativity in 1974 when she began making “Carp-Art”. This ‘hobby’ turned into a family business and led to many traveling experiences for almost 30 years. Trips included Denver, Cheyenne, Sidney, Oklahoma City, Las Vegas, Kansas City, Minot and other small towns around the Midwest.
Barbara worked at Bonnie’s Travel Chain and the Lincoln County Courthouse, was a long-time member of The Eagles Club, and she and Dwight were founding members of the Cody Ringnecks chapter of Pheasants Forever.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence & Evelyn Peterson and her husband, Dwight Allbery.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Marlene Wiest-Kansas City, Sharlene (David) Carmichael-(Beatrice), Julie Alm- North Platte, Rachelle (Shawn) Allbery-McQuade-North Platte, and Rhonda (Allan) McGill- Lincoln. Her grandchildren, Justin (Gena) Jones, Casey (Alesa) Jones, Cody (Amanda) Burrows, Shelby Wiest, Matthew Wiest, Landon and Lilli McGill and Gage, Sissy and Rylee McQuade as well as seven great-grandchildren.

Brenda Sue King Hazen, 44, of North Platte, NE, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Great Plains Health in North Platte.

Brenda was born August 28, 1970, to Wayne Roger ‘Butch’ and Janet Kay DaMoude King at North Platte. She grew up in Sutherland, NE and graduated from Sutherland High School in 1990. Following graduation Brenda traveled and lived at times in Wyoming, California, Texas and Lincoln, NE before settling in North Platte where she was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Brenda enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews and liked to fish and camp when she could.

She leaves behind her mother, Janet King, of North Platte; a sister, Cindy (Brett) Neal, of Lincoln; two brothers, Tim (Geri) King, of Longmont, CO, and Mike King, of Wallace, NE; her friend, Bob Loper, of North Platte; eight nieces and nephews; seven great-nieces and nephews; and other family.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Butch King; grandparents, Ray and Margaret King and Harrison and Oleta DaMoude; her aunt, Jeannine Mitchell Stamn; uncles, Jim D. Colburn and Doug DaMoude; a cousin Karla J. Wright; and a niece, Kylee Dawn Neal.

Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Dan Hitch officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery south of Sutherland. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore which is in charge of arrangements. Frances Mary “Vicky” Williams, age 88 of North Platte, passed away Thursday July 23, 2015 at Centennial Park.
Vicky was born October 24, 1926 at Seven Oak’s, Kent, England to James and Frances Ada (Long) McClernon. She attended London Wenchmore Hill School. On February 4, 1947 she married Clarence Williams at Phillipsburg, KS. She worked 25 years in health care, working at Highland Hospital in London, and Linden Manor in North Platte. For a time she and Clarence lived in Hastings and she worked at monastery, and for a doctor as a private nurse. She also worked as a receptionist for Adams & Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte and was a member of the Does (Elks) Club.
Vicky is survived by her sons Keith (Linda) Williams and Leland Williams all of North Platte; sisters Jean (John) Lampell of London, England, Margaret Woodhouse of Denver, CO, Sheila (Joe) Landry of Tucson, AZ; brother Bob McClernon of London, England; 2 granddaughters, Bekki (Kale) Merklin of North Platte and Laurie (Jesse) Polvika of Lincoln; 5 great grandchildren, Trevor, Dillon, Nichole, Jaret, and Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; grandparents, three brothers, Jim, Joseph and Stan McClernon; brother in laws Ray Woodhouse and Wayne Landry; and 2 sisters-in-law.

Larry E. Perlinger, age 75 of North Platte, passed away July 23, 2015 at his home. He was born January 26, 1940 at North Platte to John and Anna (Neuberger) Perlinger. Larry grew up on a farm southwest of Paxton and attended district 70 country school and also Paxton High School. He was united in marriage to LaDonna Johnson on October 20, 1962. They lived in Madrid and Grant before moving to North Platte. To this union, they had three children, Vincent, Anna, and Garret. Larry enjoyed life on the farm and working with tractors and machinery. He loved horses, dogs, cattle, John Deere’s, and Fords. Larry was always on the go and enjoyed visiting with friends and spending time with family. He embraced his Catholic Faith where he was involved with Marriage Encounters and Charismatic Prayer Group for many years. Family that will dearly miss him include, his wife, LaDonna of North Platte, children, Vincent and Anna Perlinger both of North Platte, grandchildren, Shayla (Samuel) Dunn and Garrett Perlinger, brother, Jim (Pat) Perlinger of Paxton, sisters, Jeanne (Gene) Krab of Paxton and Stella (Joe) Klosen of Stapleton, sisters-in-law, Jen Perlinger and Louise Perlinger, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John, Fred, and Bernard Perlinger, sisters, Pauline Myers, Helen Miner, and Phyllis Blake, son, Garret, and a granddaughter Amanda. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with the Reverend James Golka as celebrant. Rosary will be 7:00 pm Monday at the church. Cremation was chosen and a private family inurnment will be at the Madrid Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his memory.
