Robert E. “Bob” Pearman, age 84, of Maxwell, died May 25, 2014 at Linden Court. He was born on September 10, 1929 in Thomas County, NE to Robert Ernest and Rena G. (Allen) Pearman.
Bob grew up on the family ranch and graduated from Seneca High School in 1947 in a class of two people. After graduation, he worked for various ranches in the Sandhills. Bob met a local schoolteacher at Whitman, NE in 1947, Betty Adam. The couple was wed on September 10, 1950 at the Lakeside Methodist Church near Alliance.
Bob worked on the Adam family ranch before the couple moved to Maxwell to their family ranch in 1951. They continued to live there for the next 63 years. Bob and Betty owned and operated the Flock Inn in Maxwell for many years. He also sold fertilizer and seed corn. Bob was a longtime member of the Maxwell School Board, and he and Betty drove the activity bus for the school for many years. Bob was involved in many youth activities in Maxwell and the 4-H Club. He loved children and loved teasing them. He enjoyed dancing, watching race cars, and raising and working his horses, cattle, and dogs. Bob will be remembered for loaning out his roping horses to several young people to help them in their rodeo careers.
Survivors include his wife Betty of Maxwell; two children, Doug (Collene) Pearman of Maxwell, and Jolene (Clarence “Butch”) LaBore of Mullen; a sister, Marion Isom of Mullen; five grandchildren, Amy (Lloyd) Pemberton of Lynchburg, VA, Trent (Kate) LaBore of Denver, CO, Jill (Rob) Star of North Platte, Lana LaBore of North Platte, and Jennifer (Travis) Franks of Mansura, Louisiana; four great-grandchildren, Dylan, Jaelyn, Ashton, and Alexander; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Norman Neisius; a daughter, Barbara in 1983; and a brother, Norman Pearman. Lisa Renee’ (Adams) Hiller

Lisa Renee’ (Adams) Hiller, age 44, of Hershey, died May 23, 2014, at her home after a hard fought, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Lisa was born on June 17, 1969 in Pasco, WA to Larry and Linda (Thompson) Adams. She has one older sister, Lori Adams.
The family moved to Pierre, SD when she was 6 years old. Lisa attended and graduated from T.F. Riggs High School in Pierre, SD. She then graduated from the University of South Dakota with an associate’s degree in nursing. She worked for a short time as an RN at St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre.
Prior to college graduation, Lisa met the love of her life, Allen Hiller. He was home from A.I.T. with the U.S. Army at the time they met. Allen was stationed at Ft. Stewart, Georgia. He spent nine months in Saudi Arabia during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. The couple became engaged when he returned from the gulf, and were married on April 25, 1992 in Pierre. To this marriage, two beautiful daughters were born; Makayla Elise, and Tara Suzanne. The family lives in Hershey, NE, surrounded by many loving friends. Lisa was currently working at the NP Surgery Center when she became ill.
Survivors include her husband, Allen of Hershey; two daughters, Makayla and Tara of Hershey; parents, Larry and Linda Adams of Pierre; a sister, Lori Adams of Mitchell, SD; mother-in-law, Mary Hiller of Pierre; a niece, Camryn Krogman of Mitchell; and two nephews, Brandon and DJ Krogman of Mitchell; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Chet Hiller, and her Grandma and Grandpa Thompson, and Grandma and Grandpa Adams.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday May 28, 2014 at the Hershey High School new gym with the Rev. Erin Dunlavy and Rev. Scott Mustion officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 12-6, and Tuesday from 9-9 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to her daughter’s education funds.
Additional services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Faith Lutheran Church in Pierre, SD. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Pierre. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Joyce Noteboom

Joyce Noteboom, 92, of North Platte, NE, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, at Centennial Park Retirement Village in North Platte.

Joyce was born January 10, 1922, to Charles Orville and Evelyn Yates Tilton at Loveland, CO. She grew up in Gregory, SD and graduated from high school in 1939 from Sioux Falls, SD. Joyce then completed a two year business program from Nettleton Business School.

On December 24, 1941, Joyce married Kenneth Martin Noteboom in Sioux Falls, SD and they made their home in Appleton, WI. They later moved to Nebraska where Joyce was the manager of the Senior Citizen Food Program in Sidney, NE and volunteered at the Sidney Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop.

Joyce was a member of the Sidney Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Light Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sidney where she was active in women’s organizations. She enjoyed ceramics, reading and playing bridge. She was also the recipient of the Aksarben Good Neighbor Award. When Joyce moved to North Platte she volunteered at Great Plains Regional Medical Center and was active in the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Connie (Tom) Golden, of North Platte and Lisa (Rev. Ron) Kuszak, of Longton, KS; two sons, Ken, Jr. (Myra) Noteboom, of Grove, OK and Ron (Dianna) Noteboom, of Skiatook, OK; 9 grandchildren, Robyn (Todd) Anderson, Jennifer (Chris) Baker, Kate (Jody) Hawks, Jessica (Jesse) McColm, Mandy (Corey) Doggett, Haley Noteboom, Tim (Kelly) Noteboom, Dale Golden and Kris (Cortney) Kuszak and Chris Perrotto; 18 great-grandchildren; her half brother, Robert (Deb) Tilton, of Mitchell, SD; and other family.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Ken, Sr.; a son, Elliott; her brother, Martin (Janice) Tilton; her parents, Charles and Evelyn Tilton; a granddaughter, Kristi Perrotto; and two great-grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen. Services will be at a later date and inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney. Eva Marie Weber Munnell

Eva Marie Weber Munnell, 82, of North Platte, NE, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Centennial Park Retirement Village in North Platte.

Eva was born December 17, 1931, to Cecil LeRoy and Helen Marie Nicholson Wonch at Lantree, SD. She grew up in Arnold, NE and graduated from Arnold High School. On June 5, 1945, Eva married Maynard H. Weber at Arnold and they made their home in North Platte. To this union four children, Shirley, Patricia, Gene and Gary, were born. Maynard and Eva enjoyed camping together. He passed away in 1986. Eva later married Dale Eugene Munnell on February 10, 1990. He preceded her in death in 2003.

Eva’s life centered around her relationship to God and her family. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When Eva was younger, she enjoyed cooking and making Christmas candy. Later, she liked to visit with her friends, go out to restaurants and travel. While in the nursing home she enjoyed visits with Pastor Gary Goodwin of the First Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include her sons, Gene (Vicki) Weber, of North Platte and Gary (Vickie) Weber, of Sutherland, NE; a daughter, Patricia (Ron) Sivits, of Maxwell, NE; her son-in-law, Mike Torres, of North Platte; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathy (Albert) Phillips, of Houston, TX and Carolyn Schneider, of North Platte; and many nieces, nephews and other family.

Along with her husbands, Maynard Weber and Dale Munnell, Eva was preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley Torres; her parents, Cecil and Helen Wonch; two brothers, James and LeRoy Wonch; and a brother-in-law, Red Schneider.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Gary Goodwin and Pastor Lee Wonch officiating. Burial will follow in Fort McPherson National Cemetery. Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore. Condolences may also be shared at odeanchapel.com. BAUER, JERRY

Jerry B. Bauer, 73, of North Platte, passed away May 18, 2014 at his home. He was born Nov. 30, 1940 to Oscar and Dorothy (Curry) Bauer at Alliance, NE. Jerry graduated from Alliance High School with the class of 1958. He was united in marriage to Doretta D. Roth on Dec. 10, 1951 at Atkinson, NE. Jerry had a private pilot’s license and worked for Frontier Airlines. His employment took them to the communities of Valentine, Scottsbluff, Alliance, Gering, North Platte, and Lincoln. He owned and operated ARC Automotive Reconditioning Company in Lincoln. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing and Husker Football. He loved his family, God, and country. He was a member of Maxwell Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon; and was a lifetime member of NRA. He is survived by his wife, Doretta of North Platte; his son, Daryl (Tracy) Bauer of Lincoln; daughter, Corinna (Rick) Byler of Montana; grandchildren, Daniel, Emily, Seth, Holly, and Caleb; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary Yamaki

Mary Yamaki, age 90, of North Platte, NE. , died on May 17, 2014, at the Linden Court Nursing Facility. She was born on January 17, 1924 in Hershey, NE. , to Frank S. and Hayure Saito Yamaki. Her family moved the Platte Valley District ,where she attended the Platte Valley School, graduating from High School in 1941. She attended and graduated from Chillicothe Business College, worked in Springfield, Illinois for a while, and then helped on the family farm.

Survivors are a nephew Dennis, and his wife Eileen, of Ft. Collins,Co; and two great nieces, Amanda and Elizabeth.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the North Platte Cemetery with Pastor Dave Logsdon officiating. Visitation will be noon until 9:00 p.m. today at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.

Meyers Karla

Karla Dean Meyers, age 69, of North Platte, passed away May 16, 2014 at Centennial Park. Karla was born October 3, 1944 in North Platte to Arthur and Alma (Watson) Kohl. She attended North Platte High School and graduated with the class of 1962. She married LeRoy Meyers in 1962. She was a hard worker who often worked two jobs to support her children. She started out waitressing at the Greyhound bus stop in the late 60’s and later worked at Detlefson Truck Stop and most recently at Walmart for 15 years, retiring in 2010. Karla was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in North Platte. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, making her own clothes, painting ceramics, macramé, crocheting and planting flowers. Karla was a sweet person with a good heart. She adored her grandchildren and her great grandchildren; everyone loved Karla.
Survivors include her daughter, DeEtta Meyers of North Platte; two sons, Allen Meyers of Lincoln and Mitchell Meyers of Gering; a granddaughter Jalene Lauer of Lincoln; two grandsons Kyle Lauer of McCook and Douglas Meyers of Gering; a step-granddaughter, Leichelle Hammer of Lincoln; a step grandson Lauson Hammer of Gering; 3 great grandchildren; a sister LeEtta Coons; a sister-in-law Marilyn Kohl; an aunt Myrna Kohl and many other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Delilah and Karen; four brothers, Jay, Gilbert, Loyal and Vernon; two sister-in-laws, Bonnie and Mary; brother-in-law Bob Coons; and two nephews, Wesley and Larry.
