Odetta Vetter, age 82 formerly of Stapleton, passed away September 13, 2013 in Tempe, AZ. Christian Wake Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday April 26, 2014 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Stapleton with Reverend Antony Thekkekara officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30. Inurnment will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. Lela Marcia Morash

Lela Marcia Morash age 75, of North Platte passed away April 21, 2014 at her home. She was born in North Platte on August 29, 1938 to Herbert A. and Elizabeth E. (Fairchild) Leach. She attended school at district #122 and graduated from U.N.S.A. in Curtis, NE in 1958. On November 9, 1958 she was united in marriage to Myron Morash at Hershey, NE. For over 20 years she was an independent contractor selling cleaning supplies and doing sewing for others. She was a life member and past president of the V.F.W. Auxiliary 1504, member and past president of the Military Order of Cooties Auxiliary, life member and past president of the American Veterans Auxiliary #5, and a member of the Eagles and Moose Auxiliary’s. She is survived by her sons, Rodger Allen (Kellie) Morash, Norman Lee (Kathy) Morash all of North Platte; grandchildren, Dan (Joni) Morash of Stapleton, Troy, McKenzie, Megan and Madison Morash all of North Platte; great grandchildren, Keith, Summer and Paige Morash of Stapleton; sisters, Treva Lynes and Jenevie (Delbert) Tobey; brother, Ebert C. Leach of North Platte; sister-in-law, Darlene Gordon of Nevada; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; her mother and father; an infant brother, Gayln; sister, Twila Kruger; sisters-in-law, Shadra and Charlene Leach; brothers-in-law, Clive Lynes, Don and David Brennan, Marvin Morash and Bill Kruger. Eugene V. Greeley

Eugene V. Greeley, age 81, of North Platte passed away April 20, 2014, at the Sutherland Care Center. Eugene was born December 22, 1932 in North Platte to Clifton and Velma Sukraw Greeley.
After graduating high school Eugene was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska where he was in charge of sled dogs. On September 27, 1959, he married Glennis Knotts in North Platte. Eugene was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad for 38.6 years, retiring in 1994. He liked his cattle and enjoyed having his children and grandchildren help raise the cattle. He also enjoyed putting up hay and working on the ranch. Eugene moved to his present home in March 1933 and lived there his entire life. He was a member of the American Legion and the Railroad Union. Eugene was a great husband and father who loved his family very much.
Survivors include his wife, Glennis Greeley of North Platte; daughters, Casandra (Burton) Anthony of Hyannis, NE and Susan Greeley of Grand Island; son, Daniel Greeley of North Platte; grandchildren, Alexus Anthony, Austin Anthony, Zeb Greeley and Danielle Greeley; sister-in-law, Jo Coffman; brothers-in-law, Rod Pueppka, Dick Fogel, Lyle Johnson, and Rex Coffman; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lois Fogel and Carol Pueppka; and an infant brother, Myron.

Doris Marie Muchlinski, 88, of North Platte passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Centennial Park Retirement Village. Doris graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in 1943 and St Francis Hospital School of Nursing at Grand Island in 1946.  She received a B.S. in Nursing from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. in 1956.  Miss M. worked in hospitals in Syracuse, NY; Utica, NY; Honolulu, Hawaii and Kalaupapa, Molokai, Hawaii.  After returning home she worked at Linden Manor Nursing Home for twelve years, retiring September 1, 1990. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parrish, Daughters of Charity and the American Legion Auxiliary.  She enjoyed singing in the choir, having been a member of many since grade school. She is survived by cousins, Eloise and Les Weil, Linda and Bill Smith, Mike LaVelle, Christy LaVelle; special friends, Charles and Toni Barron and Pat Sexton; and her parish family. She was preceded in death by her parents, a twin sister, Ardis; a sister, Irene, and two brothers, Vincent and Paul. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Rosary will be 9:30 a.m. prior to the mass at the church.  Burial will be at the North Platte Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Carpenter Memorial Church. Travis Dean Evans, 37, of North Platte, NE, died Monday, April 14, 2014, at his home.

Travis was born June 12, 1976, to Robert Dean and Deborah Lynn Odean Evans at North Platte. He grew up in Hershey, NE and graduated from Hershey High School in 1995 then attended Mid-Plains Community College. Travis graduated with an Associates Degree in Auto Mechanics then hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad as a carmen. He worked there until June 7, 2013, when he became disabled due to an accident.

On June 28, 1997, Travis married Teresa Runae Fletcher at the Hershey Methodist Church and they made their home in North Platte. Travis loved his children and was always willing to help his friends. He really liked to fish and goose hunt and also enjoyed building his monster truck.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa, and children, Lainee and Logan Evans, all of North Platte; his father, Robert Evans, of Evanston, WY; his grandmother, Elva Evans, of Grand Island, NE; two sisters, Angie (Jeremy) Sanford, of Hershey and Tina Crowell, of North Platte; a half brother, Deric (Cassie) Evans, of Glenrock, WY; his nieces and nephews, Jessi, Alyssa, Aaron, Joey, Kelsey, Bailee and Alleana; great nieces and nephews, Aden, Carly, Jordan and Avery; his uncles, Ron (Diane) Evans, of Georgia, Denny (Vickie) Evans, of Spokane, WA, Ray Evans, of Grand Island, NE, Kim (Ellen) Odean, of Hershey, NE and Don, Jr. (Gayle) Odean, of Redding, CA; numerous cousins and other family.

Travis was preceded in death by his mother, Deb Evans; his grandparents, Don Odean and Lillie Odean Willey; his granddad, Vence Evans; and an uncle, Doug Evans.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore with Pastor Dan Reimers officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery in Sutherland, NE. Visitation will be Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore followed by cremation. Dorys Jean Roach

Dorys Jean Roach, 82, of Gothenburg, NE, formerly of North Platte, NE, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg.

Dorys was born October 3, 1931, to George Albert and Opal Faye Walz Ballard in North Platte. She started school in North Platte and graduated in 1950 from St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Omaha, NE. Dorys returned to North Platte where she married Jack L. Jenkins on December 28, 1950. They lived in and around North Platte where they raised seven children.

In 1972 Dorys married William Alan “Al” Roach and they made their home in North Platte. They later lived in El Paso, TX and Silver City, NM before retiring to Gothenburg in 2003.

Dorys was a 4-H leader for many years and a member of the Church of Christ in North Platte and Gothenburg and Does Drove #109. She was also a member and past president of the Nebraska Teachers Association. She was a poet, artist, musician and music teacher. Dorys was a great mother and wife.

She is survived by her husband, Al, of Gothenburg; four daughters, Roselyn Kay (Preston) Polk, of Hazlehurst, MS, Christie Banowetz, of Lone Tree, CO, Ramona Jean Jenkins, of Warner Robins, GA and Laurie (Mike) Viter, of Brady, NE; three sons, George LaVerne (Tammy) Jenkins, of North Platte, Ken (Jackie) Jenkins, of Lincoln, NE and Gregory Lynn (Marcy) Jenkins, of Sidney, NE; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and other family.

Dorys was preceded in death by her parents, George and Opal Ballard; her children’s father, Jack Jenkins; and a grandson, Tucker Jenkins.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore with Sid Kite and Haun Kite of the Gothenburg Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in the North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 8:30 a.m. until service time at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore which is in charge of arrangements. Donelle Robins

Donelle Robins, 52, of North Platte, NE was called to her Heavenly home on April 14, 2014 after a courageous battle of cancer.
Donelle was born in Rushville, NE to Clifford and Dorothy (Branson) Robins on September 10, 1961. She attended Rushville and Hemingford elementary through the fifth grade.
In 1973, she moved to Mitchell, NE with her parents Norman and Dorothy Tinsley and seven siblings. She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1980.
In 1980, she married and to this union her two daughters Sheree and Shala Stricker were born. Raising her daughters was the pride and joy of her life.
She moved her family to North Platte in 1994, where she began working at Great Plains Homecare Equipment. She was employed there for 19 years before retiring to fight her battle with cancer.
Donelle had many blessings in her life and was loved by many. She was a woman of faith believing in Jesus and the beauty and peace that would await her after her passing. She was a very caring and generous person that would brighten up the room whenever she was around. She enjoyed cooking with her grandchildren and often shared her meals with others. She had a special place in her heart for organizing fundraisers on behalf of friends and community members in need. She enjoyed spending time in her gorgeous backyard, repurposing /crafting, and vacationing. Her true passion and delight came from making memories with family and friends, especially her three grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Sheree and Husband Kylee Hall and daughter Shala Hicks all of North Platte; grandchildren Bryce and Cameron Lee of North Platte, and Aaliyah Davis of Georgia; mother Dorothy Tinsley of Mitchell; father Clifford Robins of Rushville; siblings including Debbie (Von) Keller, Diana (Bill) Mansell, Darien Robins-Allen (Bill Rabeler), Demaris (Todd) Axthelm, Todd (Pamela) Tinsley, Tracy Hoy (Connie Shirey), and Trent Tinsley; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and beloved dad, Norman Tinsley.
A Celebration of life will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014 at North Platte Berean Church with Pastor John Stone officiating. Private family inurnment will be at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens near North Platte. Donelle chose cremation. A memorial has been established in her memory. Vera Anna May Cross, age 87 formerly of North Platte, passed away in Lincoln, NE on Friday April 11, 2014.
Vera was born on March 9, 1927 in a sod house in rural Lincoln County near Stapleton, NE to Charlie and Lula (Myers) Cassell. She grew up in the area and attended school in Stapleton and North Platte, graduating from NPHS in 1946. On October 25, 1947 she married Leonard Cross at the 1st Presbyterian Church in North Platte. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Vera is survived by her children Richard (Jen) Cross of Carr, CO and Eunice (Byron) Fischer of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren Trisha (Brady) Clappsaddle of Littleton, CO, Kevin (Kim) Fahnholz of Oswego, IL, Pamela Sue (Nico) Henry of Ft. Collins, CO, Kelly (Summer) Fahnholz of Omaha, NE, Kristy Kay (Curt) Nixon of Omaha, NE, Kory (Haley) Fahnholz of Bennington, NE; 4 step grandchildren Todd Shelton, Kera Franklin, Christopher Shelton and Rachel Leach; 20 great grandchildren; a sister Darlene Williams of North Platte; a brother LaVonn (Ruth Darlene) Cassell of Lincoln, NE; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leonard; and brothers Leonard, Charles, Francis and William; and infant siblings, Ura and Vivian.
