Anita C. Fiedler

Anita C. Fiedler, 83, of North Platte, passed away September 7, 2018 at home.  She was born May 20, 1935 to Martin and Irma (Lemay) Johansen at Büttjebüll, Nord Friesland, Germany. She attended schools in Germany later moving to the United States.

She was united in marriage to Fred P. Fiedler on August 19, 1956 in Fremont, NE, where the couple lived before moving to North Platte.  As a family, they owned and operated Fiedler’s Meat Market, where she was known as the “Potato Salad Lady”.  She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in North Platte.

Anita is survived by her husband, Fred; a son, Mitchell (Patty) all of North Platte; three grandchildren, Lance of Lincoln, Megan of North Platte and Michael of Lincoln; two sisters, Karen of Fremont and Marga of Germany; and a brother, Heinrich Johannsen of Germany.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Mark and Michael; a brothers, Arnold and Walter; and a sister, Hela.

Robin Emilio James Mora

Robin Emilio James Mora (Wastè Kutè [Wash tayy coo tay] Fine Shot) was born on December 8, 1981 in North Platte, NE to Martin and Alice Mora. Robin made his journey to the spirit world on August 31st, 2018 at UCHealth in Aurora Colorado.

Robin was the youngest of four children. He attended North Platte High School. In 1999 Robin moved to Kansas City and took a position as a warehouse manager.

Robin was a loving and protective friend and family member. He enjoyed music, playing guitar, and singing. He loved spending time with his family and caring for his pets. He was a good, sensitive, and complex man who will be deeply missed.

Robin is survived by his parents Martin A Mora Jr and Alice Mora of North Platte, NE. His brothers, Martin A Mora III and Ian William (Nichole) Mora and a sister, Fara Michelle Mora. Four Aunts, Trena (Jim); Victoria Mesa; Regina (Keith) Smith; and Charlene (Chuck) Swalberg. An Uncle, Geronimo Mesa and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins whom he loved dearly.

Robin was preceded in death by his Grandfather, Martin A Mora Sr; Grandmother, Bonnie Jean Mora and Step-Grandfather, Vernon Cooper.

A viewing will be held for close friends and family on Saturday September 8th from 10:00am to 11:00am at the North Platte Church of the Latter-Day Saints. Bishop Luke McConnell will officiate. Services are open to the public and will be held from 11:00am to 12:00pm and lunch will be served from 12:00pm to 1:00pm.

Robin will be cremated, and his ashes spread on his family’s land on the Pine Ridge Reservation after a year of mourning.

Margaret Ann ‘Margie’ Jensen

 

Margaret Ann ‘Margie’ Jensen, of North Platte, NE, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Monday, September 3, 2018.
Margie was born December 7, 1945, to Earl and Martha Louise (Weist) Campbell in North Platte where she grew up.  Margie graduated from high school in 1964 and worked for Campus Cleaners until getting married.

On November 11, 1967, Margie was united in marriage to Dean Lee Jensen at the First United Methodist Church in North Platte. Dean was serving in the US Navy so they moved to Long Beach, CA until returning to North Platte in 1968 where they have lived ever since.  The couple had two daughters and were married for over 50 years.

Margie continued working part-time for the cleaners until 1971 when she became a stay at home mom.  She loved her family very much and was a great wife and mother.  She even took on the duties of hosting family get-togethers, which she enjoyed.

Margie liked knitting and solving crossword puzzles.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary Post #163 and Weight Watchers.  When the girls were younger she helped at school with the PTA and was an assistant leader with Campfire Girls.  Most importantly, family was Margie’s first priority.

She leaves behind her husband, Dean, of North Platte; daughters, Kristi (Rob) Smith, of Omaha, and Kari Jensen, of North Platte; granddaughters, Kaitlin and Chloe Smith; brothers, Dennis Campbell, of North Platte and Dick Campbell, of Council Bluffs, IA; sister, Marie (Bob) Dugan, of North Platte; sister-in-law, Barbara Campbell, of Colorado Springs, CO; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Martha Campbell; sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Carl Berglund; and brother, Chuck Campbell.

Cremation was chosen.  Memorial Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2018, at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore with Rev. Dr. Douglas A. Delp officiating.  The memorial book may be signed at odeanchapel.com or from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial.

Carolyn K. Foust

Carolyn K. Foust, 76, passed away September 3, 2018 in her home after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was in the comfort of family and friends right up to her time of death.  Carolyn was a lifetime resident of Maxwell.

She was born on November 1, 1941 to Percy and Marguerite (Miller) Smith.  Carolyn was united in marriage to Michael Foust on November 13, 1957.  They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Carolyn worked as a grocery store clerk throughout her lifetime. She was employed at Edith Drake’s Café through her school years, Stuckey’s for three summers, Kittle’s Grocery for four years, David’s Grocery 1975-1977, Maxwell Grocery 1977-1990,  finishing her career working at Sun Mart  and retiring on October 20, 2001.  Carolyn was a member of Royal Neighbors of America.

Survivors include her husband, Michael R. Foust of Maxwell; daughters, Marguerite (Dre) Grandberry of Maxwell and Ginger (Larry) Rivera of North Platte;  son, Richard Foust of Lincoln; her grandchildren, Jamie Reitz, Jodie (Nate) Richardson, David Grandberry, Devin Grandberry, Danae Grandberry, Tayler (Stephanie) Foust and Tanner Foust; her great grandchildren, Avery Reitz, Landon Reitz, Alexa Foust and Eva Foust; her brother, Bob (Linda) Smith and her brother-in-law, Terry (Suzanne) Foust; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her-in-laws, Marion and Hazel Foust.

Marion D. Kellie

Marion D. Kellie, age 83 of North Platte, NE passed away September 2, 2018 at Great Plains Health. He was born December 7, 1934 at North Platte to Chester Louis and Mary Elizabeth (Weekly) Kellie. He attended school in Wellfleet and later worked with his father. He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard on December 4, 1956 and served on the USCGC Taney and received an honorable discharge on November 30, 1960. While in the service he was united in marriage to Alberta Price on August 13, 1959 at Coquille, OR. Marion was proud of his service to his country and last year revisited the ship he served on and other historic ships in Baltimore.

After his discharge Marion moved to North Platte and was employed by Missouri Valley Construction and later Western Engineering, where he retired.

He is survived by his daughter, Chris (Randy) Edwards; sons, Don Kellie, Dan (Cindy) Kellie; daughter, Cathy “Bug” Kellie; twelve grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Marion was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta “Bert” L. Kellie on June 14, 2017.

Services will be 1:00 pm Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Melvin Brown officiating. Burial will be at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery with military honors. Visitation with family receiving friends will be from 5 to 7pm Wednesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established in his memory. Harold L. Clark

Harold L. Clark, Sr., 76, of North Platte, passed away September 3, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.  He was born September 7, 1941 to James E. and Mable V. (Liptrap) Clark.

Harold attended North Platte Public Schools.  On October 21, 1958, he joined the United States Army.  After his honorable discharge in 1962, he worked at a wrecking yard in Utah.  In 1964, he married Katherine Louise Nelson.  To this union were born three kids.  In 1982, he came to North Platte and began working for Lewis and Sons Construction.  He also worked for the city parks administration, the North Platte Public Schools, and the Flying J, in 2001 he retired.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge.  He loved hunting and especially loved fishing and his dogs, Mouse and Freddy, multiple “Rat Dogs” and his son’s bearded dragon “Rocky”.  He was opinionated, ornery, stubborn, but a good loving heart.  He loved his family very much.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Elliott and Pam Thiem; a son, Harold Clark, Jr.; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, David (Bev) Clark and Charles (Arlene) Clark; a sister, Betty Barnett; several nieces, nephews and other family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Evelyn Massey, Helen Hopkins and Mary Ellen Lavine; three other infant sibblings; and one granddaughter, Haylee Clark.

Robin Mora, age 36, of North Platte, died August 31, 2018 in Colorado.  Services will be 11:00am Saturday September 11, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  The casket will be closed at the church.  Those wanting to sign the register book may do so Friday from 9-5 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
