Allyn L. Chambers, age 79 of Ogallala, passed away August 15, 2012 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.
Allyn was born September 24, 1932, in Elwood, the son of Clyde and Doris Rhinehart Wareham. He graduated from Gothenburg High School with the class of 1951. He attended Kearney State Teachers College and graduated with a B.A. in Education. Allyn served in the US Army, being stationed in Germany for a majority of his enlistment. He taught high school and junior high school. Allyn also coached football, basketball and track. In 1979 he began working for the Department of Agriculture as a Food Inspector. On September 7, 1989 Allyn married Connie Anderson. He retired from the State in 1994, but held numerous jobs after his retirement.
Allyn was a member of the Ogallala Moose Club and attended Martin Bay Community Church. He loved deer hunting, fishing and going out on the lake. He also enjoyed gardening and traveling to casinos. His pride and joy was his family, especially his grandchildren.
Allyn is survived by his wife Connie of Ogallala; 6 sons Jeff (Kathy) Chambers of Mankato, MN, Jim (Shawnda) Chambers of Independence, KS, Todd Chambers of North Platte, NE, Mark (Wendy) Chambers of Evans, CO, Ty Anderson of Ogallala, Treg Anderson of Ft. Collins, CO; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda.

A family-led memorial service will be held Monday August 20, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. MT at Martin Bay Community Church in Keystone, with the Reverend Duane Dunwoody officiating. Inurnment will follow at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. CT (2:00 MT) with military honors graveside. Adams and Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

E. Billie Pahl, 91, of Kearney, died Aug. 12, 2012, at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.
Eula Louise (Billie) Warehime Pahl was born in Waynoka, Okla., on Jan. 29, 1921. She was the second daughter of Howard Franklin Warehime and Leila Lotus Camp Warehime. Billie was raised on a farm near Ingersoll, Okla., during the Depression and Dust Bowl. She graduated from Cherokee Oklahoma High School in 1939, where she was on a championship girls’ basketball team. She attended Northwestern State Teacher’s College in Alva, Okla., where she was the president of her sorority. She graduated in 1943 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Spanish and Commerce.
She married her college sweetheart, Ben H. Pahl on Aug. 29, 1943, at her parent’s farm in Ingersoll, Okla. After Ben completed dental school and served two years of active duty, they set up a dental office in Kearney. After 42 years of practice, Ben retired and they traveled extensively.
Billie was baptized in the Methodist Church in Ingersoll, Okla., and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Kearney, since 1947. She was an active member of Chapter GG of the P.E.O. Sisterhood where she served in all officer positions. Civic activities included the Red Cross Blood Mobile, Junior Women’s Club, Duplicate Bridge Club, Women’s Golf Association, B.P.O (Does) and the Executive Board of Park School PTA for nine years.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Isla Maurine Warehime Smith.
In June 2012 Billie and Ben moved to assisted living in North Platte, to be near daughter, Jackie Lashley.
She is survived by her husband, of 68 years; daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie (Jon) Welty, of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Jackie (Mike) Lashley, of North Platte; she is also survived by four grandchildren, Ben A. (Libby) Lashley, of North Platte, Amy Jo Lashley (Brian) Johnston, of Adams, Phllip P. (Amanda) Welty, of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Mitch J. (Amy) Welty, of Brentwood, Tenn.; great-grandchildren are, Morgan, Maggie and Maya Lashley, Skyler and River Johnston and Megan and Michael Welty.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, at the First United Methodist Church in Kearney with the Rev. Gary Main officiating. Private burial at the Kearney Cemetery will be preceding the services.
Visitation with the family will be following the service at a luncheon at the church.

Bernard “Bernie” F. Grieser, age 89, of North Platte, passed away August 12, 2012 at his home. Bernie was born August 7, 1923 in North Platte to Edward B. and Ellen B. McCarthy Grieser. He attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School, graduating in 1942. Bernie entered the United States Army in 1943, serving overseas from July 1, 1944 to January 3, 1946 in England, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Czechoslovakia.
He was a self employed electrician, working on electric motors for 25 years then maintained family rental property until 80’s. Bernie lived on his acreage with his horses and dogs. He was a charter member of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Posse and 50 year member of that organization. He was a WWII historian and avid reader. Bernie had a great sense of humor, was a very intelligent man, and loyal friend. He recently celebrated his 89th birthday with his numerous friends. He cherished his Arab horse and German Shepherd Hoodoo.
Survivors include his adopted family Doug Peterson and Brenda Grant both of North Platte; a goddaughter, Jackie Nolan of North Platte; and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Leo Grieser and Harold Grieser on July 4, 2012.

Marvon David Edelman passed away peaceful at his home in Mullen, NE on August 11, 2012 from battling cancer.
Marvon David Edelman was born on March 26, 1932 to Clyde and Eula Pearman Edelman on the ranch six miles north of Seneca, NE. Marvon attended Jimtown country school and Seneca school. He grew up breaking and riding a lot of horses. He worked on many area ranches in the sandhills. He worked for Boeing in Wichita, KS. He lived with his brother Bud and sister in-law Margorie.
He came back to the sandhills and met and married Charleen Butler on July 26, 1954. He worked in the oil fields in Kimball, NE. He worked for Franke’s Construction, Missouri Valley Const and came to work for the city of Mullen, later became the Superintendent for the city. He later, owned and operated his own Trucking Company and developed his own Mineral Feed for cattle in the sandhills area.
Marvon and Charleen raised nine children and love them all. Marvon loved for all his family to get together at home. He so enjoyed his 23 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
He leaves behind his wife Charleen Edelman of 58 years. His children he leaves behind are Linda and Dan Miyagi, Fort Collins, CO, John and Terria Hampton, Arthur, NE, Earleen and Steve Printz, Owasso, OK, Eula & Charlie Younkin, Rushville, NE, Kim Minor, North Platte, NE, Calleen & Glenn Andrews, Gordon, NE, Von & Tom Roseberry, Minatare, NE, Kelly & Dean McCaffery, North Platte, NE. Marvon has 23 loving grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that he so loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, all of his brothers William Clyde & Edith Edelman, Biloxi, MS, Bud Wes Edelman, Caldwell, KS, Ted & Gloria Edelman, Arnold, NE, Dick and Bonnie Edelman of Mullen, NE. A son, Richard of Santé Fe, Texas and a granddaughter Christy Teahon Fort Collins, CO., granddaughter Chana Miyagi of Fort Collins, CO.
He was very much loved and will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. We love you Dad, Grandpa & Paw Paw. Marvon was very proud of his heritage and the sandhills. We will truly miss your big laughter, wonderful sense of humor and stories and your legacy will live on in the hearts of all of us.

Ronnie L. Williams, 61, of Curtis, passed away August 8, 2012 at his home. He was born November 17, 1950 to Lester and Joy Ruth (Norton) Williams at Madera, CA. Ronnie lived in the Curtis and North Platte where he was a truck driver and equipment operator. He was united in marriage on July 13, 2012 to Tina Conklin in North Platte. He is survived by his wife, Tina of Curtis; nine children; two step children; a sister, Sherry Knight; a niece, Crystal Crewdson; a nephew, Anthony Bennett and other relatives.
