Mark W. Hasenauer

Mark W. Hasenauer, 66, of Stapleton, passed away June 12, 2018 at home.  He was born October 9, 1951 to Erwin and Melissa (McDermott) Hasenauer at North Platte.

Mark graduated from Stapleton High School and after graduation he joined the United States Army, serving two tours to Vietnam.  On October 13, 1972, he was united in marriage to Linda Johnson at Dillon, South Carolina.  Mark was employed for over 40 years for the Union Pacific Railroad as a machinist.  He was a member of the North Platte Berean Church, and the Stapleton V.F.W. and Legion.  Mark loved his cattle.

He is survived by his wife, Linda of Stapleton; two sons, Chris (Kim) Hasenauer of Stapleton and Richard (Mayank) Hasenauer of Oklahoma; two grandsons, Chris and Zach; a brother, Marvin (Sharon) Hasenauer of Tryon; a sister, Bonnie Bonnici of California; many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Gary; and a sister, Phyllis Stackhouse.

George Alan Karis Death Notice

George Alan Karis, of South Carolina, formerly of North Platte, died Thursday, November 23, 2017, in Anderson, South Carolina.

Sharon Jo Halligan

Sharon Jo Halligan, 80, of North Platte, passed away June 7, 2018 at Perkins County Health Services.

Sharon was born May 17, 1938 to Cecil and Alice (Daly) Goodwin at North Platte. She graduated from North Platte High School and attended Hastings Community College.

Sharon married Harrison Halligan on February 16, 1958 and they lived and raised their family on their ranch northwest of North Platte.

Sharon was involved in the Miss Rodeo America, Inc., serving two terms as president and serving on their executive board for many years. She served  on many committees for Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, serving many  years as president. Also, she was chairman of the NEBRASKAland Days Queen committee. She received A Friend of Miss Rodeo Nebraska Award in 2017. She was instrumental in helping to bring the Miss Rodeo Nebraska pageant permanently to NEBRASKAland Days – Buffalo Bill Rodeo. She was the first National Director of Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association, serving for three years. She also served on the first Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska Pageant Committee. Sharon loved to judge and did in many states and local contests over the years. Her passion was helping young women obtain their dreams of becoming a Rodeo Queen. She traveled to many rodeos with her steer wrestling husband, Harrison. Her husband, children, grandchildren and friends were always the love of her life.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Tammie Halligan and three sisters.

She is survived by son, Dan (Cindy) Halligan of North Platte; daughter, Claudia Coble of Big Springs; grandchildren, Sarah (Chris) Wright of Arizona, Monica Halligan of California, Travis Halligan of North Platte, Sawyer (Kegan) Rabe of Arthur, Carter (Haley) Coble of North Platte, Stephanie (Aric) Riggins of McCook, Craig (Erin) Freeburg of North Platte; seven great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A memorial has been established in her name. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018, at First Christian Church. Burial will be at the North Platte Cemetery. Delvin E. “Del” Dimmick

Delvin E. “Del” Dimmick, 78, of North Platte, NE, passed away June 7, 2018, at Great Plains Health surrounded by his loved ones.

Del was born on March 9, 1940 to Elmer and Lorraine (Fredericksen) Dimmick in Akron, IA.

After graduating from Akron High School, Del and his brother began a trucking business. He was also a member of the Iowa Air National Guard. Del worked several years for Diesel Specialties, Inc. in Sioux City, IA, before moving to North Platte and starting Ag & Auto Diesel Service, Inc. in 1981. He was united in marriage to Beverly Stearns on May 11, 1991. Del loved coaching softball and enjoyed many years on the coaching staff for the North Platte Sensations. He also enjoyed riding bikes and restoring both classic cars and tractors. He was a member of the Platte Valley Auto Club. Del and Bev loved to spend time traveling and camping in their RV. They were faithful members of Harvest Christian Fellowship. His grandchildren were everything to him and he loved the company of his two dogs.

Bev would like to especially thank the Cancer Center, Dr. Demytra Mitsis and her staff for the care and compassion provided to Del during his illness.

Del is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mardeen Lanning; brother, Dellis Dimmick; granddaughter, Lacey Rosenbaum; and nephew, Danny Lanning.

He is survived by his wife, Bev; daughters, Lynda (Keith) Rosenbaum of Kennewick, WA, Marci (Lonnie) Wisehart of Lincoln, NE; Suzan (Mark) Miller of Omaha, NE and Heather (Karl) Bieber of Omaha, NE; step daughters, Kristie Frazier of Littleton, CO and Becky (Greg) Goodwater of Parker, CO; step son, Brad (Kristy) Frazier of Torrington, WY; eleven grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.

Ricky Dale Douglas, 62, of Lincoln, formerly of North Platte, died June 3, 2018, at Bryan East, Lincoln. Cremation was chosen. Services will be at a later date. Carpenter Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with services.

Douglas Eugene Seevers

Douglas Eugene Seevers, 51, of North Platte, passed away June 3, 2018, in Lincoln.

He was born on Jan. 30, 1967, to Roland and Wanda (Clang) Seevers in North Platte. Doug graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 1985.

He worked various places including Simon Construction, Western Construction and Cement Products.

He began a relationship with Susan (Major) Chilcott in 1995. The two were married Oct. 11, 2013, in North Platte.

Doug loved being outdoors, fishing and working with heavy equipment. He had a very kind, loving heart, and everyone like to be around him.

Doug was very loving to his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a father to his stepchildren and loved them like his own.

He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Wanda; and a brother, Richard Klatt.

Survivors include his wife, Susan of North Platte; father, Roland (Doris) Seevers of Grand Island; children, Tasha (Aaron) Schroder, and Justin Chilcott, all of North Platte; grandchildren, Ainsley Schroder, Stetson Schroder, Keaton Adams and Tristian Chilcott; siblings, Bill (Deb) Klatt, Kathy (Ron) Johnson, both of North Platte, David (Marcie) Seevers of Lincoln and Ronda Warner of Wyoming; mother-in-law, Viola Curtis of North Platte; brother-in-law, Charles (Denise) Major of North Platte; his beloved dog, Buddy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Kayla Mae Scherbarth

Kayla Mae Scherbarth, 1, of Elsie, passed away June 2, 2018, at Great Plains Health in North Platte.

Kayla was born on March 28, 2017. She is the daughter of Whitney Olson and Kurt Scherbarth. She was taken from us too soon at the age of 1 year and 2 months.

She loved her brothers, Matthew and Tyrel, and sister, Lillian. One of her joys was to watch them play and run. She also loved to snuggle, give kisses, rub foreheads, music, yell, laugh and giggle. Kayla would always look at you and give you a cheesy smile and say “you” and then pause and then say “go.” She loved everyone and everything.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Henry and Christiana Olson.

She is survived by those who loved her: Her parents, Whitney Olson and Kurt (girlfriend Dayna Cayer) Scherbarth of Wauneta; her siblings, Matthew, Tyrel and Lillian; grandparents, Mark and Sheila Olson of Elsie and Craig and Cheryl Scherbarth of Elsie; great-grandparents, Harold and Kay Suhr of Sutherland; auntie Lina Olson of Elsie; uncles, Kyle (Samantha) Scherbarth of Curtis and Justin of Elsie; aunts Sheila of Kearney and Angela (Mike) Kreutzer of Kearney; and many other cousins, great-aunts and -uncles, relatives and friends.
