Richard J. “Dick” Ingerle

Richard J. “Dick” Ingerle, 86, of Elba, died Dec. 10, 2017, at CHI Health Saint Francis in Grand Island, surrounded by his family.

Richard James Ingerle was born on Feb. 3, 1931, in Lincoln, the son of Louis V. and Jean M. (Kellenbarger) Ingerle. He grew up in Elba, where he received his education at Elba Public School and was a 1949 graduate of Elba High School.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force on Sept. 11, 1950. He was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington, where he served as a radar gunner on B36 bombers. He was discharged on Sept. 10, 1954. He then attended Gonzaga University in Spokane from 1954-55.

He returned to Elba, where he worked in the family gravel business.

He was united in marriage to Coleen D. Piper on Oct. 25, 1963. He returned to continue his education from 1963-65, attending Kearney State College. Dick then taught music in Wallace, Sutherland and Elba schools.

In 1979, he started Tri-County Sand and Gravel in Elba, along with other members of the Ingerle family.

From 1987-96, he taught industrial technology at University of Nebraska at Kearney, and he also developed and ran the mine safety training program for the state of Nebraska.

Dick was a member of the Elba United Methodist Church, Carl Mogensen American Legion Post 119 of St. Paul and the Elks. He had served as the chairman of the Housing Authority in Elba, was president of the Musicians Union in Grand Island from 1963-65 and played the sax and clarinet with 32 different bands.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Amanda Mewis.

Dick is survived by his wife, Coleen D. of Elba; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey (Vickie) Ingerle of Cheyenne, Wyoming; daughter and son-in-law, Debra (Randy) Mewis of Kearney; grandchildren, Cary Ingerle, Robert Ingerle and Ashley Ingerle, all of Cheyenne, Nikona and Jon Crocker of Kearney; two great-grandchildren, Jac and Charlie Crocker of Kearney; brother and sister-in-law, Allen (Edna) Ingerle of Elba; sister, Carol Maxwell of Challis, Idaho; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, at Peters Funeral Home, St. Paul, with the Rev. Mike Anderson and Pastor Cheryl Anderson officiating. Inurnment will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 18, at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell with military honors. Peters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lillian Margaret “Billie” Guilliaume

Lillian Margaret “Billie” Guilliaume, of North Platte, NE, passed away at the age of 91, on Monday, December 11, 2017, at Centennial Park Retirement Village.

Billie was born in David City, NE, on May 11, 1926, the third of seven children to Roy and Blanche (Whitmore) Powell. She grew up in David City and graduated from high school in 1944. Billie went to work as a Station Helper for the Union Pacific Railroad then moved to North Platte where she worked at St. Mary’s Hospital.

On January 17, 1948, Billie was united in marriage to Robert L. Guilliaume in North Platte where they made their home. They had six children and were married for 64 years when Bob passed away in 2012.

Billie was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Alter Society. She was also a member of P.R. Halligan Post #163 American Legion Auxiliary and a volunteer with R.S.V.P.

She is survived by her children, Robert, Jr. (Roberta) Guilliaume, of Northglenn, CO, Ron Guilliaume, of North Platte, Thomas (Terri) Guilliaume, of Haskell, OK, Shellie (Pat) Heath, of Gering, NE, and Connie Guilliaume, of Lincoln, NE; seven grandchildren, Joe, Jeremy, Melissa, Amy, Kristen, Holly and Cody; 11 great-grandchildren, Katelin, Jordan, Peyton, Kaylee, Aaron, Marcus, Mason, Gunnar, Claira, Aven and Evelyn; sister-in-law, Betty Powell, of David City; as well as several nieces, nephews, other family and her friends.

Along with her husband, Bob, Sr., Billie was preceded in death by their infant son, Joseph; her parents, Roy and Blanche Powell; brothers, Dean and David Powell; her baby sister, Veronica Powell; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Charlie Hitch, Evelyn and Bob Grubaugh and Dorothy and Harry Hubbell.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Celebrant Father Josh Brown. Burial will follow in Fort McPherson National Cemetery. Rosary Service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore and before services at the church. Robert S. Inlow

Robert S. Inlow, 61, of North Platte passed away on December 1, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska.  He was born on April 8, 1956 in North Platte to Gary E. and Joanne (Piper) Inlow.

He was preceded in death by his father Gary; grandparents, Stuart & Frances Piper; brother, Joseph; uncles, Wayne and Tom Piper; aunt, Eileen Simon; and a cousin Teresa Slack. He is survived by his son, Gary; daughter, Tina; mother, Joanne Bollish; brother, Jeffrey; sister, Lisa (Bollish) Cordonier; uncle, Don (Gloria) Piper; and aunt, Kathy Slack.

Cremation was chosen.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with the Reverend Mark Seiker as celebrant.

Inurnment will follow the service at the Wellfleet Cemetery.

Dale Wilbur Darnall

Dale Wilbur Darnall, 87, of Eustis, passed away Dec. 7, 2017, after a 3½-year battle with Alzheimer’s.

Dale was born on May 14, 1930, south of Farnam to Wilbur and Emma (Klein) Darnall. The family moved to Eustis in 1937, where Dale attended school and graduated with the class of 1948. At the age of 13, Dale went to work at the Eustis Mercantile Co.’s Ford Garage.

On Dec. 3, 1948, Dale married Janice Jenkins. In 1963, he purchased John Wolf’s share of the K.W. Motor Co., joining Elmer Ballheim in the business. Dale’s youngest son, Jay, purchased Elmer’s share of the business in 1983, and it was renamed D.J. Motors.

Dale was an active member in his community. He served as a volunteer for Eustis Fire and Rescue for more than 65 years. Through the years, he was involved with Scouting as the Cub Scout master and was a member of the Eustis School Board, Town Board and Eustis Methodist Church. Dale loved to travel and along with his wife, Janice, visited every town in Nebraska. Dale also enjoyed spending summer weekends at Plum Creek Reservoir, fishing and boating with his family.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bill, Glen and Clark.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Janice; children, Rick (Nancy) of Irvine, California, Gary (Kathy) of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Bryan (Deb) of Eustis, Brenda (Gary) Davis of Farnam and Jay (Rita) of Eustis; sister, Bonnie (Nicholas) Casper of Lexington; two sisters-in-law, Norma Darnall of Farnam and Jean Darnall of Glasco, Kansas; 14 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Don E. Seifert

Don E. Seifert, age 74 of North Platte, passed away December 10, 2017 at his home. He was born July 16, 1943 at Loup City, NE to Arthur E. and Dolly L. (Fletcher) Seifert. He graduated from Benson High School in Omaha and later hired out on the UPRR in Omaha and transferred to North Platte in 1970. He retired after 45 years of service. Don was an avid hunter and fisherman. His love for outdoors also led him to scuba dive, and race motorcycles on the dirt and ice.

Survivors include his children; Ken (Deb) Seifert of Kearney, Jerry (Gina) Pennington of Richmond, TX, and Lori Post of Greer, SC, sister; Barb Seifert of Omaha, granddaughters; Alicia Hixon, Kelsey Seifert, Danette Ditch, and Spring Lanfried, cousin; Terry Fletcher of North Platte, whom the family would like to thank for the care and attention he gave Don over the years, many, many, cousins, and his furry companion, Gloria.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents, Ralph and Barbara Fletcher.

William “Bill” Arthur Traube

William “Bill” Arthur Traube, 72, passed away Dec. 1, 2017, in Chandler, Arizona.

Bill was born in Lincoln on Dec. 22, 1944, and grew up in Wilber. He enjoyed his childhood and often reminisced about the memories and mischief he enjoyed with his childhood friends, with whom he stayed in contact. Bill adopted the nickname “Wad” and was well known for his adventures with that alias.

Bill’s career included the Nebraska Fisheries, North Platte Police Department and real estate and property management upon moving to Arizona in 1979.

Bill had many joys in life, including exploring the outdoors, riding quads, fishing, hunting, shooting, cooking, sightseeing, traveling, music, sports, jumble puzzles and an afternoon iced tea. He enjoyed his Czech heritage and cuisine, such as kolaches, summer sausage and Wilber rye bread.

He always enjoyed just being outdoors with his sons. Bill enjoyed time spent with his family and was an active grandfather, enjoying his grandchildren, Blake and Kendyl, and their many activities including sports, piano recitals, performances and graduations. He had a great fondness for his toddler granddaughter, Adilyn.

Bill had a sharp wit and a great sense of humor. He always had a joke to share or story to tell to put a smile on your face. Bill’s most incredible talent was to hear a song and sit down at the piano and play it by ear. He provided years of entertainment to his friends, family and even strangers with his piano playing skills. His mom’s favorite request was “Beer Barrel Polka,” and his daughter loved “Johnny B. Goode” and many others. Bill enjoyed road trips in his truck or on his Harley and was notorious for dropping by unannounced, much to the surprise and happiness of others. He loved a good Western movie and he wasn’t shy about sharing his opinion while watching sports.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Havranek Traube; cousin, Dennis Havranek; and ex-wife, Sherry Van Wagoner.

Bill is survived by his sons, Brett (Kelly Glennen) and Eric (Meridith Matschull); daughter, Lisa; grandchildren, Blake, Kendyl and Adilyn; several cousins, many friends and ex-wife and mother of his children, Carol Leach Traube.

Memorials are suggested in Bill’s name to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Valley.

Private services will be at a later date. Cremation was chosen.

Marjorie M. Roethemeyer

Marjorie M. Roethemeyer of Colorado Springs, CO, formerly of North Platte, departed this life on December 6, 2017 at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs with her family by her side.

Marjorie Mae (Marge) Godeker was born on January 1, 1928 to John Godeker and Dorothy Mae (Nee) Sheldon in Sutherland, Nebraska at the home of Jacob and Mary Cotten. She grew up and graduated with the class of 1945 in Sutherland.  She was briefly married to which two children were born.  On August 16, 1958 she wed Vernon G. Roethemeyer and they resided together in North Platte until his death. She recently relocated to Colorado Springs, CO to be closer to her daughter.  She loved to needlepoint and crochet and made many gifts for her children and grandchildren, and was known for her sewing of the beautiful can-can costumes she lovingly created for the Nebraskaland Days Frontier Revue.  Marge was an avid photographer. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary of which she was a permanent member and the Federated Garden Clubs of Nebraska of which she was a life member.

She was predeceased by her husband, Vernon, her mother and father and brother John.  She is survived by her brother James Godeker of Grand Island and sister Peggy Land of North Platte, two sons and two daughters:  the Rev. Professor Robert V. Roethemeyer (Kay) of Fort Wayne, IN; Rev. Herbert Burch (Markie) of Belmopan, Belize; Vernita M. Hare (Ron) of Colorado Springs, CO and Ronda M. Gale (Ed) of Billings, MT.  She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, three great-great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews including her beloved niece Vicky Loving of North Platte.

Services will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 10:30 a.m., the Rev. Jon Dickmander presiding, with interment to follow at North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 12, with family receiving friends from 5-8 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Marilyn Grace Downing

Marilyn Grace Downing, age 87 of Mullen, passed away Wednesday December 6, 2017 at Pioneer Memorial Rest Home in Mullen.

Marilyn was born on September 10, 1930 in Mullen, NE to William H. and Sarah T. (Thomas) Bramer.  She spent her school years in the Mullen Public School.  After graduation she attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority.  She was a lifetime member of the University Alumni Association and an avid fan of the Cornhuskers.  Marilyn married Daniel C. Deibler, Jr. and together they had 6 children, Pamela, Daniel C. III, Scott, Christopher, Douglas and Gail.  After Dan’s death in 1966, Marilyn married Howard V. Downing.  Howard passed away in 1996.  Marilyn was a 75-year member of the United Methodist Church in Mullen, where she actively served on many committees.  She was a member of the United Methodist Women, a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and she also served as Coordinator of the Red Cross Bloodmobile in Mullen for over 20 years.

Marilyn is survived by her 6 children; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents William and Sarah Bramer; husbands Daniel Deibler and Howard Downing; and grandson Michael Jeffrey Deibler.
