Hershey Battles Sutherland (Listen Live on Q-Country 107.3)
Tonight on Q-Country 107.3, it’s one of Lincoln County’s best rivalries as Hershey takes on Sutherland on the hardwood. The Panthers teams are off to fine starts this season. The Lady Panthers have won both of their games in January to improve their record to 8-2. The Panther boys are also perfect in 2012 so far, and have run their record to 7-3. The Sutherland Lady Sailors, who opened the season in the Class D1 top 10 rankings, have lost two of their last three games, including Saturday to Perkins County, to fall to 8-3 on the season. The Sailor boys have struggled out of the gate, but snapped a four-game losing streak against Perkins County to improve to 5-5. Q-Country 107.3 has all the action from Hershey tonight, with pregame coverage scheduled to start at 5:45.

Panthers Host McCook As 2012 Gets Underway (Listen Live On Q-Country 107.3)
After disappointing showings at the Holdrege Holiday Tournament to close out 2011, the Hershey Panther and Lady Panther basketball teams are ready to resume their seasons tonight. Hershey welcomes McCook to town for a girls and boys doubleheader. The Lady Panthers lost both of their games in Holdrege to drop to 6-2 on the season. The Panther boys lost in the tournament championship to Gering and are now 5-3. Q-Country 107.3 has the action as the Panthers take on the Bison tonight. Pregame coverage is scheduled to start at 5:45.

Lady Bulldogs in GNAC Final; Boys Drop To Third Place Game
The North Platte Lady Bulldogs are headed to the Greater Nebraska Athletic Conference championship game after defeating Lexington 38-14 in the semifinals last night in Lexington. The Lady Bulldogs shut out the Minutemaids in the opening quarter, and scored the game’s first 18 points on their way to the victory. Ashten Hernandez scored a game-high 10 points and hauled in 13 rebounds for her second double-double in as many games. In the boys semifinal last night, North Platte fell to second ranked Norfolk 65-36. That loss sends the Bulldogs to the third-place game, where they’ll play Hastings. That game takes place today at noon, and will be followed by the Lady Bulldogs facing Columbus in the championship game at 1:45. ESPN Radio 1410’s coverage will begin at 11:45 this afternoon.
