Two Irish, Two Sailors Make Fall All-State Teams

Three Lincoln County athletes earned All-State honors in their class in their fall sport from the Omaha World-Herald, as announced over the weekend. In volleyball, St. Patrick’s junior middle blocker Brittany Lawrence was named All-Class C2, while Sutherland senior middle blocker Sam Kennedy was All-Class D1. Both Lawrence and Kennedy led their teams to the state tournament. Lawrence ripped 359 kills for the fourth-place Lady Irish, while Kennedy pounded 442 kills for the third-place Lady Sailors. In football, St. Patrick’s senior Sean Keenan was named to the All-Class C2 team as a defensive back. Keenan started at quarterback and cornerback for the 10-1 Irish, who made their third consecutive trip to the state quarterfinals. The Lincoln Journal-Star gave All-State honors to Lawrence and Kennedy, and second team All-State honors in Class D1 to Sutherland senior Joli Hopping.
