Huskers Fight Hard in Loss to Hoosiers

Lincoln – Jessica Shepard posted her Nebraska freshman-record 10th double-double and Jasmine Cincore scored a career-high 16 points, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Huskers from falling to Indiana 79-68 Wednesday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

NPCC Lady Knights Volleyball Signs Kuhlmann

North Platte — The North Platte Community College Lady Knights Volleyball team added Cheyanne Kuhlmann from Imperial to their 2016 squad.

Kuhlmannn, a 5’ 3” defensive specialist, played for the Chase County High School Longhorns, who went 24-4 this past season.

NPCC Knights Basketball Falls Twice in Weekend Region IX Games

knights basketballNorth Platte —The North Platte Community College Knights basketball team fell in two National Junior College Athletic Association Region IX South Sub-Region contests over the weekend.  On Friday, they traveled to Trinidad, Colo., and were defeated by the Trinidad Sate Junior College Trojans 79-72.  On Saturday, the Knights traveled to La Junta, Colo., and lost to the Otero Junior College Rattlers 92-69. NPCC Knights Softball Loses Six During Weekend

North Platte —The North Platte Community College Knights Softball team lost six games over the weekend.

On Friday, the Knights lost a doubleheader to Frank Phillips College 11-9 and 14-11.

On Saturday, the Knights lost two more games to Frank Phillips College 14-5 and 14-5.

On Sunday they traveled to Colby, Kansas and lost a doubleheader to Colby Community College 6-3 and 19-4.

The Knights are 1-7 on the season and will travel to Alamosa, Colo on March 3 to play Adams State University in a doubleheader.  Game times are at 3 pm and 5 pm CST.

NPCC Lady Knights Basketball Split Games Over Weekend

thomesha djimoniiNorth Platte —The North Platte Community College Lady Knights basketball team split games over the weekend, defeating the Midland College Junior Varsity Lady Warriors 70-62 on Friday and losing to the Northeast Community College Lady Hawks 83-52 on Saturday.

Huskers Drop Finale in Charleston, 7-3

Charleston, S.C. – After Nebraska (1-2) shutout the College of Charleston (2-1) in Friday night’s season opener, the Huskers dropped the next two games of their season-opening series with the Cougars, including a 7-3 defeat on Sunday afternoon at Patriots Point.

Nebraska’s offense was unable to solve Cougar starter Hayden McCutcheon, who tossed 6.0 shutout innings and struck out eight, while allowing two hits and one walk. Short-Handed Huskers Fall to Purdue

Lincoln – Playing without starting senior guards Rachel Theriot and Kyndal Clark, Nebraska could not muster enough offense in a 68-50 women’s basketball loss to Purdue on Sunday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The Huskers, who slipped to 17-10 overall and 8-8 in the Big Ten, announced that Clark’s playing career at Nebraska was likely over because of extreme pain in her knees. Clark, who missed nearly all of her fourth season with a knee injury at Drake in 2015 after being named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year in 2014, had started Nebraska’s first 26 games this season.
