NPCC Knights Basketball to Host Dodge City

npcc dodge cityThe North Platte Community College Knights basketball team will host the Dodge City Community College Conquistadors on Saturday, November 21 at 7:00 pm at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium.

The Knights are looking to avenge their only loss of the season.  They lost to the Conquistadors earlier in the season 75-61 at Dodge City.  Point guard Lorenzo Dillard scored 21 points and seven assists against the Knights in the game.  James Newton finished with 20 points and five rebounds for the Conquistadors. AUDIO: NPCC Knights Basketball defeat York College JV

tyree peter tim wagnerThe North Platte Community College Knights defeated the York College Junior Varsity Panthers on Wednesday 104-59 at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium.

The Knights never trailed in the game, jumping out to a 6-0 lead and increasing the lead to 28-10 at the ten minute mark.  The lead was as much as 35 in the first half. With four minutes left the Panthers cut into the lead of the Knights when Jamarcus Cooksey drained four three-pointers.

Huskers Sweep Indiana, Win Seventh Straight

LINCOLN, Neb. – The No. 6 Nebraska volleyball team swept Indiana, 25-16, 25-19, 25-19, to win its seventh straight match on Wednesday night at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

The Huskers improved to 23-4 overall and 14-3 in the Big Ten, putting them alone in second place after Penn State’s loss at home to Michigan on Wednesday night. Huskers Return Home for Delaware State

The Nebraska basketball team looks to have a short memory, as the Huskers return to action Thursday night to take on Delaware State. Tipoff at Pinnacle Bank Arena is set for 7 p.m. and a limited number of tickets are available by visiting Huskers.com, calling 800-8-BIGRED during business hours or at the Pinnacle Bank Arena box office beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The Huskers are 1-1 on the season and look to bounce back from an 87-63 loss at the hands of No. 11 Villanova Tuesday night at the Gavitt Tipoff Games. In that game, Nebraska led 23-16 midway thru the first half before going into an extended scoring drought for more than seven minutes, allowing the Wildcats to take control. At times, the Huskers were their own worst enemy, as 22 turnovers led directly to 33 Villanova points, and the Huskers shot just 38 percent from the field. Gallinari leads Nuggets past Pelicans, 115-98

Denver_NuggetsNEW ORLEANS (AP) — Denver’s Danilo Gallinari scored a season-high 32 points, New Orleans’ Anthony Davis hurt his left shoulder in the first quarter, and the Nuggets defeated the downtrodden Pelicans 115-98 on Tuesday night.

Huskers Fall to No. 11 Villanova

Philadelphia, Pa. – Villanova with a 22-0 first-half run to erase a seven-point deficit, as Nebraska suffered its first loss of the season, falling to the No. 11 Wildcats, 87-63, at the Pavilion Tuesday night in the inaugural Gavitt Tipoff Games.

Huskers Begin BYE Week Preparations

Lincoln, Neb. – The Huskers returned to practice Tuesday after the Rutgers win and practiced for just under two hours. The offense practiced in the Cook Pavilion while the defense practiced in the Hawks Championship Center.

Head Coach Mike Riley spoke to the media following practice. He spoke about the team’s need for a bye week.
