SAN DIEGO (AP) — Zach Miller made a one-handed grab of a 25-yard touchdown pass from Jay Cutler with 3:19 to go, and the Chicago Bears beat the San Diego Chargers 22-19 on Monday night.

Cutler, who overcame an interception return for a touchdown and a fumble to throw for 345 yards, calmly led the Bears on the winning 10-play, 80-yard drive after the Chargers had taken a 19-14 lead on rookie Josh Lambo’s 22-yard field goal. Hickson, Mudiay help Nuggets hold off Trail Blazers, 108-104

Denver_NuggetsDENVER (AP) — J.J. Hickson scored 19 points and rookie Emmanuel Mudiay hit two game-sealing free throws with 18.3 seconds remaining, helping the Denver Nuggets beat the Portland Trail Blazers 108-104 on Monday night.

Huskers Roll in Exhibition Opener

Lincoln – Andrew White III led four Huskers in double figures with 18 points as the Huskers topped Northern State, 95-42, Monday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

White, who sat out last year after spending his first two seasons at Kansas, hit 6 of 10 shots from the floor, including a pair of 3-pointers to lead a balanced attack that saw 12 players break into the scoring column. Shavon Shields and Tai Webster added 14 points and six rebounds apiece, while freshman Jack McVeigh came off the bench and had 11 points and 11 rebounds. NU Confident after Upsetting MSU, Ready for Rutgers

Lincoln, Neb. — The Nebraska football team practice for under 90 minutes inside the Hawks Center on Monday night in sweats, just two days after upsetting No. 6 Michigan State.

Defensive coordinator Mark Banker spoke to the media following practice, impressed with his defense’s performance against Michigan State on Saturday.

NFL suspends CB Aqib Talib for poking player in the eye

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Denver Broncos star cornerback Aqib Talib was suspended one game without pay for poking Indianapolis tight end Dwayne Allen in his right eye in the waning minutes of Denver’s 27-24 loss to the Colts on Sunday.

Talib said afterward he didn’t intend to poke Allen, but was only trying to shove him away from Von Miller.

Armstrong Jr. Earns Big Ten Offensive Player-of-the-Week Honors

Nebraska junior quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. was honored on Monday as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week. Armstrong was instrumental in engineering Nebraska’s 39-38 comeback victory over No. 6 Michigan State on Saturday night in Lincoln.

Armstrong completed 19-of-33 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for two fourth-quarter touchdowns against the Spartans. Armstrong led Nebraska on two touchdown drives in the game’s final four minutes, helping the Huskers tie for the largest fourth-quarter comeback in school history. 3-star running back, Tre Bryant, commits to the Huskers

The 16th commitment to the 2016 recruiting class for Nebraska comes from 3-star St. Louis (MO) running back Tre Bryant.  According to ESPN Bryant is ranked as the 7th best running back in Missouri and the No. 73 ranked running back nationally in the 2016 class.  Bryant chose Nebraska over offers from every power conference including four other Big Ten offers.

Colts’ offense gets back in sync, stun Broncos 27-24

DenverBroncosINDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Andrew Luck threw two touchdown passes and Adam Vinatieri made a tie-breaking 55-yard field goal with 6:13 to play, giving Indianapolis a surprising 27-24 victory over Denver.

The Colts (4-5) ended a three-game losing streak and stayed atop the AFC South by ruining Peyton Manning’s return to Indy again.

Lady Bulldogs face Lincoln Southeast in first round of state volleyball tournament

North Platte VolleyballThe North Platte Lady Bulldogs, as expected,  received the No. 2 seed in the Class A state volleyball tournament. The NSAA released the official brackets on Saturday evening, North Platte will face Lincoln Southeast at 5:30 pm on Thursday, Nov. 12 at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln in the opening round of the state tournament. You can hear all the action on ESPN Radio 1410 and online at northplattepost.com as the Lady Bulldogs go for their third state title in school history and first championship since 1980.
