Lincoln – Head Coach Darin Erstad released Nebraska’s 2016 baseball schedule on Monday morning. The 56-game schedule kicks off on Friday, Feb. 19, when the Huskers open a three-game series against the College of Charleston in Charleston, S.C. Nebraska will play its first 10 games away from Lincoln before hosting its home opener on Tuesday, March 8, with an afternoon contest against Northern Colorado at Hawks Field. Astros take 2-1 series lead over Royals with 4-2 win

kc-royalsHOUSTON (AP) — Dallas Keuchel remained perfect at home with seven gutsy innings and Chris Carter homered Sunday, leading the Houston Astros to a 4-2 win over the Kansas City Royals to take a 2-1 lead in the American League Division Series.

Harris’ INT return leads Broncos to 16-10 win over Raiders

DenverBroncosOAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Chris Harris Jr. returned a fourth-quarter interception 74 yards for a touchdown and the Denver Broncos overcame a shaky day from Peyton Manning to beat the Oakland Raiders 16-10 on Sunday.

Badger Boot Beats Big Red

Lincoln, Neb. – In a continuation of one of the longest stretches of close games in Nebraska football history, the Huskers watched Rafael Gaglianone’s 46-yard field goal sail through the uprights in the north end zone with four seconds left to give Wisconsin a 23-21 win at Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

The loss, Nebraska’s fourth of the season on the opponent’s final offensive play, dropped the Huskers to 2-4 and 0-2 in the Big Ten, while Wisconsin improved to 4-2 and 1-1 in the conference. Continue reading “Badger Boot Beats Big Red”

Huskers Top No. 24 Michigan, 3-1, on Pink Night

Lincoln – The fourth-ranked Nebraska volleyball team won its 16th straight home match with a 3-1 (25-18, 25-19, 20-25, 25-17) win over No. 24 Michigan on Saturday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center, with 8,314 people on hand for the annual “Pink Night”.

The Huskers moved to 14-2 overall and 5-1 in the Big Ten with their third win over a ranked opponent this season, while Michigan fell to 13-4 and 3-3 in the Big Ten.  Continue reading “Huskers Top No. 24 Michigan, 3-1, on Pink Night”

NPCC Lady Knight Volleyball Goes 2-2 overall at Jimmy Johns Tournament

NPCC Knights LogoThe North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team continued to be successful against National Junior College Athletic Association Division II rated teams by defeating the Bismarck State College Lady Mystics three sets to two.

NPCC Lady Knights Volleyball go 1-1 on Day One of Jimmy John Tournament

NPCC Knights LogoThe North Platte Community College Lady Knights Volleyball team went 1-1 on day one of the Jimmy Johns Invitational tournament.  They defeated the Cowley County Community College Lady Tigers in the first match 26-24,20-25,25-17,25-22 to increase their winning streak to four.
