Samantha Morgan named NPCC “Business Student of the Month”

samantha morganSamantha Morgan is North Platte Community College’s “Business Student of the Month” for September.

The Iliff, Colo. native graduated from Caliche High School in 2014. Her parents are Bob and Diane Morgan.

Offense Prepares for Wisconsin

Lincoln, Neb. – The Huskers practiced for just under two hours in half pads Tuesday in afternoon. The offense practiced inside Memorial Stadium and the defense practiced on the Ed and Joyanne Gass practice field in preparation for the Wisconsin game this Saturday. Offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf spoke with the media following practice.

Two receive rodeo scholarships

Two members of the Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team have been awarded scholarships to help further their education.

Duell Puttergill, of Tryon, competes in saddle bronc riding for the college. He is the recipient of a $750 scholarship from NEBRASKAland Days.

“I feel honored to have been picked for the scholarship,” said Puttergill. “I had no idea I was even a consideration for it. It will take some of the burden off of me for student loans and will make it easier to finish this last year of college.” Continue reading “Two receive rodeo scholarships”

NPCC Lady Knights Volleyball to Host Southeast

southeastThe North Platte Community College Lady Knights Volleyball team will host the Southeast Community College Lady Storm Wednesday night October 7 at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium at 6 pm.

Storm F Kaiser commits to Western Michigan

Kearney, Ne. – Storm forward Bobby Kaiser was born and raised in Michigan, developing his hockey talents before coming to Tri-City. He is moving back to the Great Lakes State for college.

Kaiser, 18, announced his verbal commitment to play Division I college hockey for Western Michigan University late Monday.

Royals to give Ventura start in Game 1 of ALDS

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Royals will start hard-throwing youngster Yordano Ventura in Game 1 of the AL Divisional Series, regardless of whether Kansas City plays the Yankees or Astros on Thursday night.

Huskers Plan for Physical Wisconsin Offense

Lincoln, Neb. — The Nebraska football team practice for just under 90 minutes in sweats on Monday afternoon inside the Hawks Center, as it prepares to welcome the Wisconsin Badgers to Lincoln on Saturday.

Defensive coordinator Mark Banker spoke to the media after practice, focusing his attention on a tough Wisconsin offense.

Lady Bulldog golfers qualify for State with 3rd place District finish

North Platte NP logoThe North Platte girls golf team finished in third place as a team at the District A-4 golf tournament today at Pacific Springs Golf Course in Omaha. The Lady Bulldogs edged Lincoln Southeast by one stroke to finish third and qualify the entire team. Junior Morgan Lashley took second as an individual with a score of 75, just one shot behind the tournament champion Megan Whittaker from Elkhorn South.
