NPCC Lady Knights Volleyball Travel to Northeastern Junior College

npcc vs northeasternThe North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team will try to improve on their 5-4 record when they travel to Sterling, Colo., to play the Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen on Tuesday, September 1 at 7:00 p.m. CST.

Hunter Named B1G Setter of the Week

Kelly Hunter was named the Big Ten Setter of the Week on Monday, the conference office announced.

The honor is the first career one for Hunter, a sophomore from Papillion, Neb. The Husker captain was named the most valuable player of the Nebraska Invitational on Saturday. Ex-Omaha sportscaster Schuetz new PA man at Memorial Stadium

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Former Omaha sportscaster Jon Schuetz is the new public address announcer for Nebraska football games at Memorial Stadium.

The university athletic department announced Schuetz’s hiring Monday. He replaces Patrick Combs, who had been the announcer since 2002. Nebraska cut ties with Combs this month after he was arrested on suspicion of bilking hundreds of thousands of dollars from two elderly women. Manning on the run in Denver’s 19-12 win over 49ers

DenverBroncosDENVER (AP) — Peyton Manning failed to get the Broncos into the end zone in seven possessions Saturday night, when Denver rode its stifling defense and good ground game to a 19-12 win over the sputtering San Francisco 49ers.

Huskers Top Pitt 3-1, Give Cook 600th Win

Lincoln – The Nebraska volleyball team finished off an unbeaten weekend at the Nebraska Invitational with a 3-1 (25-9, 25-20, 27-29, 25-19) win over Pittsburgh on Saturday night at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
