Barnes has 3 hits to lead Rockies to 6-3 win over Braves

ATLANTA (AP) — Brandon Barnes had three hits, including a two-run homer, and the Colorado Rockies extended Atlanta right-hander Shelby Miller’s winless streak to 18 starts with a 6-3 victory over the Braves on Wednesday night.

Megan Chintala and Valerie Most of the North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team were selected to the Subway Invitational All-Tournament team.

Chintala, a freshman defensive specialist from Fleming, Colo. , led the Lady Knights in the tournament with 51 digs.  She also had four set assists and three service aces.

Injury Bug Plagues the Huskers

Lincoln, Neb. – The Nebraska football team was back at it on Tuesday afternoon, as the Huskers practiced for just over 90 minutes in half pads outside on the Ed and Joyanne Gass practice fields.

Gomes drives in 3 runs, Braves beat Rockies 5-3 to end skid

colorado-rockiesATLANTA (AP) — Jonny Gomes drove in three runs with two hits, including a two-run homer in the first, and the Atlanta Braves beat the Colorado Rockies 5-3 on Monday night to end their seven-game losing streak.
