BOSTON (AP) — Mike Moustakas’ two-run double capped a four-run ninth inning that carried the AL Central-leading Kansas City Royals to an 8-6 comeback victory over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday.

DENVER (AP) — Logan Verrett stepped into Matt Harvey’s spot and earned his first major league win in his first start, pitching eight impressive innings and leading the New York Mets over the Colorado Rockies 5-1 Sunday.

Lincoln, Neb.- The Nebraska football team wrapped up Fall Camp on Saturday, as the Huskers scrimmaged inside of Memorial Stadium for two hours. Lincoln – The Red team defeated the White team, 3-1, in Nebraska volleyball’s annual Red/White Scrimmage before 5,148 fans at the Bob Devaney Sports Center on Saturday night.
Red won sets one and two by 25-22 scores, then White took set three, 25-19. The teams played a fourth set to 15 with the Red pulling out the 16-14 win. HOUSTON (AP) — Peyton Manning couldn’t score in more than a quarter of work in his preseason debut before Denver’s reserves rallied late to help the Broncos to a 14-10 win over the Houston Texans on Saturday night.
