ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Peyton Manning will make his preseason debut Saturday night at Houston.

Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said Tuesday that Manning “will play quite a bit. Is that a quarter and a-half? Is that a half? Is that a quarter? I don’t know. Huskers Inch Closer to Season Opener

Lincoln, Neb.- The Nebraska football team continued its 2015 Fall Camp Tuesday morning, as the Huskers practiced for just over two hours inside the Hawks Championship Center. The Huskers were in full pads Tuesday, on another rainy day in Lincoln.

Bridge Named Assistant Soccer Coach

Lincoln, Neb.—Head coach John Walker announced Tuesday the hiring of former professional soccer great and Canadian National Team coach Ian Bridge as assistant coach for the Nebraska soccer team. Bridge will assist Walker in developing player skills and game strategies, while using his coaching depth to bring further experience to the program. Huskers Continue 2015 Fall Camp

Lincoln, Neb.- The Nebraska football team continued its 2015 Fall Camp Monday morning as the Huskers practiced inside the Hawks Championship Center and outside on the Ed and Joyanne Gass practice fields for just over two hours. The Huskers were in full pads on a rainy Lincoln day.

North Platte – A new era opens for the North Platte Community College women’s volleyball team for the 2015 season.  Alexa Hopping begins her first season as head coach after serving as an assistant coach the past couple of seasons under Sally Thalken, who retired after 34 years at the helm.

Royals sign Chamberlain, Rodriguez to minor league contracts

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Veteran pitchers Joba Chamberlain and Wandy Rodriguez agreed to minor league contracts Sunday with the Kansas City Royals, the American League Central leaders, and will report to Triple-A Omaha.

Chiefs’ Fisher limps off as team resumes training camp

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) — Chiefs left tackle Eric Fisher limped off the field early in practice Monday, the latest injury to a team that had several players dinged up in its preseason opener.

Fisher, the 2013 No. 1 overall draft pick, was hurt while blocking in a 9-on-7 drill. The third-year pro limped away from the workout, then had his shoe removed as trainers looked at his left ankle.
