NPCC Knights basketball to host Dodge City Wednesday night
North Platte – The North Platte Community College Knights will host the Dodge City Community College Conquistadors on Wednesday, Dec 14 at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium.
The Conquistadors own a 5-2 advantage over the Knights in the all-time series between the two schools.
The Knights are 7-2 on the season. Diontae Champion leads the Knights in scoring at 17.4 points per game. Mike Amius and Godfrey Rolle are the other two Knights averaging in double figures at 15.2 ppg and 13.2 ppg respectively. Amius leads the Knights in rebounding at six rebounds per game.
The Conquistadors are 9-3 on the season and on a two-game winning streak. Five Conquistadors are averaging in double figures led by Kourtney Ware at 16.1 ppg. Josh Boutte is second at 15.8 ppg, followed by Harris Brown at 15.5 ppg. Trevon Evans and Nick Noskowiak are the remaining Conquistadors in double figures at 10.7 ppg and 10.4 ppg respectively.
Tip-off is set for 7 pm.

NPCC Knights basketball loses on the road at Lamar 72-63
Lamar, Colo.- The North Platte Community College Knights basketball team dropped their second National Junior College Athletic Association Region IX South Sub-Region contest on the season to the Lamar Community College Runnin’ Lopes 72-63 on Saturday afternoon.
The Knights led in the first half by 12 points 25-13, but the Lopes rallied to take a 36-33 lead at halftime.
The Knights started out the second half outscoring the Lopes 5-0 to take a 38-36 lead. The second half remained close until the Lopes opened it up in the last two minutes, which forced the Knights to take desperation shots to get back into the game.
The Knights are now 7-2 on the season and 0-2 in South Sub-Region play. Diontae Champion led the Knights in scoring with 16 points. Victor Lewis added 13 points and Godfrey Rolle added 11 points.
The Lopes, ranked 15 th in the nation in the latest NJCAA Division I poll is 14-1 overall and 3-0 in the South Sub-Region, were led in scoring by Michael Skinner with 27 points. Wayne Stewart added 14 points and Taylor Shepard added 13 points. Skinner also added 10 rebounds to complete the double-double. Isaiah Martin also added 10 rebounds and had five block shots.
The Knights are next in action on Wednesday, Dec 14, when they face non-Region IX opponent Dodge City (Kan.) Community College. Tip-off is set for 7 pm.

NPCC Lady Knights basketball defeat York College JV 71-47
North Platte – The North Platte Community College Lady Knights basketball team defeated the York College Junior Varsity Lady Panthers 71-47, Friday night at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium.
The Lady Knights started out slowly allowing the Lady Panthers to have an 18-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. KeKe Hobson scored eight points in the first quarter to pace the Lady Panthers.
The Lady Knights got things going in the second quarter, outscoring the Lady Panthers 19-10, to trail at halftime, 28-27.
After exchanging baskets to begin the third quarter, the Lady Knights took the lead for good at 31-30. The Lady Knights increased their lead in the third quarter by outscoring the Lady Panthers 29-10, to lead 56-38 at the end of the third quarter.
The Lady Knights didn’t look back in the fourth quarter, allowing only nine points and scoring 15 points for the win.
The Lady Knights are now 5-7 on the season, and the win avenges an earlier loss to the Lady Panthers in York 55-75.
The Lady Knights were led by Thomesha Wilson, who scored 18 points in the contest. Aljahnay Duncan added 17 points and Mickenzie Brennan added 11. Jessica Lovitt led the Lady Knights in rebounding with 10 rebounds.
Hobson led the Lady Panthers, who finished with a game high 22 points. No other Lady Panther scored in double figures. Nakia Hackel finished with nine points. Haley Scoffield and Megan Duddan each collected eight rebounds to lead the Lady Panthers.
The Lady Knights are off for the remainder of the semester and will return to action on January 7 when they host Eastern Wyoming College.
