North Platte High School defeated Wayne 13-9 in their first elimination game of the day at the class B state tournament. In game two, North Platte lost to defending state champion Gretna, 10-2 in five innings.

HIGHLIGHTS: North Platte softball falls 7-5 against York in first round at State
North Platte High School dropped their opening game of the 2016 Class B State Softball Tournament, 7-5 against the 3-seed York Dukes. The 6-seed Lady Bulldogs will face an elimination game on Thursday at 9 a.m. against 7-seed Wayne.

Morgan Lashley tied for 7th place at the Class A state golf tournament with a score of 169 (+25). Lashley finished 13 shots behind the state champion, Megan Whittaker of Elkhorn South.

NPHS softball is state bound for a second consecutive year; draw No. 6 seed
The North Platte high school softball team won the B6 district tournament to punch their ticket back to the class B state softball tournament for a second consecutive season. It’s the 11th state softball tournament appearance for the Lady Bulldogs.
North Platte (23-9) is the No. 6 seed and will face the No. 3 seed York (29-4) in the opening round in Hastings on Wednesday morning at 9:00 AM.

NPCC Knights softball garners national academic honor
North Platte – The North Platte Community College Knights softball team was among the Easton Top 10 academic team honors for junior colleges by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
