Huskers Wrap Up Spring Practice; Red-White Game Next
The Husker football team held their final practice of the spring yesterday afternoon, working out in full pads outdoors for two hours. Head coach Bo Pelini spoke to the media after practice. He seemed pleased with the way his players rounded out the spring, and excited for Saturday’s last scrimmage.
“It was a good go today,” Pelini said. “It was a spirited go. We got a lot done. It was a good practice to finish this thing off and get ready for Saturday. That’s more of a show for the fans obviously and a show of appreciation. We’re going to be thin because we have some guys nicked up that won’t participate but we split the team in half and we are going to have some guys play on both teams. We’ll end up being pretty basic and have some fun with it.”
Among those who will not participate in the Red-White Spring Game are running back Ameer Abdullah and linebacker David Santos. Pelini also confirmed that Taylor Martinez’s participation will be limited, but not due to injury. The spring game is Saturday at 2 PM.
