Bulldogs fall in penalty kicks in A-5 district soccer title

Omaha Central clinches a berth in the Class A state tournament after winning the penalty shootout 4-2 following a scoreless 100 minutes. Overall, five tickets were punched on Wednesday night for the Class A boys state tournament. The final two district championship games will be played Thursday, May 5. One additional team will qualify based on the wildcard point standings, North Platte is still in the running for that wild card berth.

npcc all regionNorth Platte – Five of the North Platte Community College Knights softball team were selected to the Region IX Division II All-Region team for the 2016 season.  Sara Villalobos, Jessica Jarvis, Samantha Gill, Samantha Foster and Shelby Belloni were each selected for the team. North Platte – The North Platte Community College Lady Knights Basketball team has announced the signing of Allison Tichy from Bellevue.  Tichy played for the Bellevue East High School Chieftans.

Offensive tackle Alex Lewis and fullback Andy Janovich were selected in the NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon, giving Nebraska four selections in the 2016 Draft. The two Husker offensive players joined a pair of Blackshirt defenders selected in the draft, as defensive tackles Maliek Collins and Vincent Valentine who were taken in the third round on Friday night.
