The Nebraska men’s basketball team’s floundering season got a major boost last night. The Huskers got their biggest win of the season, topping 11th-ranked Indiana 70-69 at the Devaney Center. Jorge Brian Diaz hit a pair of free throws with 11 seconds to play to provide the winning points for the Big Red, as Indiana missed two shots on the other end before the buzzer sounded. The Huskers trailed by seven points at the half and were down by 13 with 14 minutes to play, but steadily cut into the Hoosier lead before Diaz’s heroics gave them their first lead since early in the first half. Bo Spencer paced the Husker attack with 23 points. It’s the ninth time in coach Doc Sadler’s six season the Huskers have beaten a ranked team. They’re now 2-5 in Big Ten play. Nebraska hosts 6th-ranked Ohio State on Saturday.

Huskers Host Hoosiers in Big Ten Clash
One of the most storied programs in college basketball history makes its first visit to Lincoln since 1942 tonight. The Indiana Hoosiers, the 11th-ranked team in the country, comes to the Devaney Center tonight to face the slumping Nebraska men. The Huskers could not build on their first Big Ten conference win of the season, losing at Wisconsin 50-45 on Sunday afternoon in their last game. The Hoosiers have struggled as of late as well, losing to Minnesota and Ohio State last week to fall four spots from 7th in the latest AP Top 25 poll. Though the two teams haven’t played in Nebraska in 70 years, they have met ten times in history, with the last time a Hoosiers victory in Indianapolis back in 1982. Tip-off from the Devaney Center tonight is set for 6:00. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
Nuggets Get Road Win at Milwaukee
The Denver Nuggets used a monster 37-point second quarter to build a big lead they would not relinquish in a 105-95 win against the Milwaukee Bucks in Milwaukee last night. Six Nuggets scored in double figures to carry the offensive effort that led to a 19-point halftime lead. Though the Bucks would get as close as nine in the fourth quarter, the Nuggets got five straight points from Danilo Gallinari to ward off any potential threat. Reserve guard Corey Brewer led the way with a season-high 22 points on the night. Al Harrington added 16 off the bench, and Gallinari and Nene added 14 points apiece. The win gives the Nuggets a two-game season series sweep of the Bucks and moves their record to 9-5. The Nuggets continue their five-game road trip tonight against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Tri-City Storm lost their fifth consecutive game in blowout fashion last night, falling on the road 7-0 to the Lincoln Stars.
