DEMI MOORE RETURNS TO TWITTER: Demi Moore has returned to Twitter. The actress — still posting as @mrskutcher — sent out her first message in three months on Monday. Demi posted what appeared to be a self-portrait, showing herself lying on top of her bed, staring up at the camera through dark-rimmed glasses. The caption simply said, “Testing . . . “DOES TAYLOR ARMSTRONG HAVE A DRINKING PROBLEM? Those close to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong are reportedly urging the reality star to go to rehab. Sources say that Taylor has been drinking excessively since her husband Russell committed suicide last summer. A source told Radar, “The fellow Housewives feel that Taylor needs to go to rehab to learn how to cope with the pressures of life without alcohol or any other substances. Taylor is in denial that she has a problem with booze. One of the reasons is why is because she is a paid spokesperson for Ciroc vodka. She earns about $100 thousand a year from that endorsement deal, and she is afraid that if she goes to rehab they will drop her.”

SOURCE: RYAN O’NEAL PROGNOSIS IS ‘GRIM’: Even though Ryan O’Neal issued an optimistic statement regarding his prostate cancer diagnosis, sources close to the actor say that this prognosis is ‘very grim.’ A source told RadarOnline.com, “that the cancer has spread to O’Neal’s “bones, and other areas of his body. Ryan has been told that the odds of him being alive in five years are very bleak. Most men that are diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer rarely make it to three years.”

PAULEY PERETTE HAS EX-HUABND DRAMA: Pauley Perrette’s ex-husband has been charged with one count of violating a court order and one count of probation violation. E! couldn’t confirm if the NCIS star was in fact the person who took out the restraining order, but the two divorced in 2004 after just four years of marriage. If convicted, Francis “Coyote” Shivers could face up to 18 months in jail.

 

DID ‘GMA’ FINALLY BEAT ‘TODAY’? Good Morning America may have finally edged out the Today show in the ratings. According to preliminary figures, Good Morning America drew 5.147 million viewers last week, beating Today by 13,000 audience members. The final numbers will be released on Thursday. Todayhas dominated the ratings for the past 16 years. 

ELI MANNING HOSTING SNL: Eli Manning, quarterback for the 2012 Super Bowl champion New York Giants, will host Saturday Night Live on May 5th. This will mark the second time an athlete is hosting the show this season, after Charles Barkley took the reins in January. Manning will be joined by musical guestRihanna.

STEVE CARELL LANDS NEW MOVIE: Steve Carell has reportedly signed on to star in a new movie that’s been labeled “a mob comedy.” PerezHilton.com reported that the actor will star opposite The New Girl’s Jake Johnson in the project, though few other details have been revealed.

HALLE BERRY SPEAKS ON ENGAGEMENT TO OLIVIER MARTINEZ

Halle Berry has finally confirmed her engagement to Olivier Martinez. According to Extra, the actress laughed when asked about her engagement. She said, “Who knew? I swore [marriage] off, right?” She added, “Never say never, people!” 

Martinez confirmed the news to Us Weekly last month.

  • This will be Halle’s third marriage. She was married to baseball player David Justice and singer Eric Benet.

 WEEKEND MOVIE WRAP-UP

The blockbuster film The Hunger Games topped the box office for the fourth straight weekend, raising its domestic total to $337.1 million. Opening in second place was the comedy The Three Stooges, brothers Peter and Bobby Farrelly’supdate on the legendary slapstick trio, starring Chris Diamantopoulos as Moe, Sean Hayes as Larry and Will Sasso as Curly. Jane Lynch and Sofia Vergara co-star.

The Cabin in the Woods, a thriller about five friends who go to a remote cabin that offers a twist on the horror genere, debuted at Number Three. Kristen Connolly, Chris HemsworthFran KranzBradley Whitford and Richard Jenkins star.

Opening in ninth place was the sci-fi/action film Lockout, starring Guy Pearce as a man wrongly convicted of espionage against the U.S. who’s offered freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter from an outer space prison that’s been taken over by dangerous inmates. Co-starring are Maggie GracePeter Stormare and Joe Gilgun.

RYAN O’NEAL LASHES OUT AT OPRAH: Ryan O’Neal is blaming Oprah Winfrey for the low ratings his reality show, Ryan and Tatum: The O’Neals on OWN received. ABC KEEPING ‘GENERAL HOSPITAL’: ABC is switching up their daytime lineup. PerezHilton.comreported that the network has reversed their decision to cancel General Hospital and will instead axe The Revolution after just one season on the air. MORGAN FREEMAN DENIES BEING ENGAGED TO STEP-GRANDDAUGHTER

Morgan Freeman has denied rumors that he has ever had a romantic relationship with his 27-year-old step-granddaughter E’Dena Hines. According to TMZ.com, Freeman released a statement responding to reports that he and Himes have been dating for ten years and that they are planning to get married.

Freeman’s rap said that the actor remained mum on the rumors for years because he didn’t want to “dignify these stories by commenting,” but he now feels compelled to speak out since the reports were picked up by various mainstream media outlets.

  • He said in a statement, “The recent reports of any pending marriage or romantic relationship of me to anyone are defamatory fabrications from the tabloid media designed to sell papers. What is even more alarming is that these fabrications are now being picked up by the legitimate press as well.”
  • E’Dena also issued a statement. She said “These stories about me and my grandfather are not only untrue, they are also hurtful to me and my family.”
