Like Mother, Like Daughter: Lindsay Lohan’s Mom Arrested for DUI

dina-lohan(AP) — Lindsay Lohan’s mother is facing a drunken driving charge in New York following a traffic stop on Long Island.

State police say Dina Lohan was stopped on Nassau County’s Northern State Parkway at 11 p.m. Thursday after troopers clocked her driving at 77 mph in a 55 mph zone.

Police say she had a blood alcohol concentration at 0.20 percent. That’s more than twice the legal limit in New York.

Lohan was booked, issued tickets and then released. She’s due in court Sept. 24.

Police say they called an ambulance and had medics examine Lohan. She complained she’d been hurt during the arrest. But they say no injuries were found.

Phone calls and emails to a lawyer and publicist who have represented Lohan in the past weren’t immediately returned.

Advance Tickets on Sale for Evil Obsession Cemetery Tour

Carolyn Clark portrays Annie Cook
Carolyn Clark portrays Annie Cook

Advance tickets for the “Evil Obsession Cemetery Tour” are now on sale at the North Platte Public Library.  This tour is based on the book, Evil Obsession by Nellie Snyder Yost and will explore one of North Platte’s more infamous residents, Annie Cook, as well as several people whose lives she destroyed in her conquest for money, fame and power; plus two individuals who dared to defy her.

Our Cemetery Tours consist of actors performing living history presentation. The actors will be dressed in period costume and will give a first person monologue as if they were the ghost they are portraying; they bring the ghost to life. While these tours are not ghoulish in nature, the content of this tour will give you chills as you hear these stories from our community’s past.

There are three opportunities to hear these living history presentations.  The Twilight Tour takes place at the North Platte Cemetery on Friday, September 20th from 4:00 PM-7:30 PM.   On Saturday, September 21st, you can visit the cemetery from 1:00 PM-5:00 PM.   At the outdoor performances, the actors tell their stories by the graves of the person they represent and can be visited in any order.  Allow about 2 hours to hear all of the presentations.

The indoor or stage performance of the Cemetery Tour will take place at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 24th at the Quality Inn & Suites.  This is a great tour for those who find walking the cemetery difficult.   Each “ghost” will tell their story on stage.

Advance ticket prices are $10.00 for adults (ages 17 and older) and $5.00 for children (ages 5-16) and may be purchased at the Library’s main circulation desk.  Save money on your tickets by stopping at the library before heading to the tour.  Tickets purchased at the gate or door will be $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for children.  This tour may not be suitable for young children.  This is a historical cemetery tour.  History can be scary, painful, sad, and hard to understand.  This tour contains such history and may not be appropriate for all ages of children.
