Randy Travis Enters Guilty Plea in DUI Case

randy-travisCountry music legend, Randy Travis, has pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated after an incident last summer when a drunken and naked Travis crashed his Trans Am.

Authorities say that a Trans Am, which was registered to Travis, left the road about 60 miles north of Dallas near where the singer lives, striking and damaging several construction zone barricades.

When authorities arrived, they found a naked and belligerent Travis.  Travis’ blood alcohol level was 0.21.  The legal limit in Texas is 0.08

Although the charge was a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail, Travis was sentenced to two years of probation and was ordered by the court to attend an alcohol treatment center for at least 30 days.

Lohan Is Back In Court For A Hearing On June Charges

LindsayA judge who previously scolded and sent Lindsay Lohan to jail is scheduled to weigh in on the actress’ latest court case over charges of reckless driving and lying to police.

The 26-year-old has been ordered to appear at a scheduling hearing Wednesday before Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner.

Lohan is accused of lying to police about driving a sports car that crashed into a dump truck in June, of reckless driving and of obstructing officers from performing their duties.

Sautner previously sentenced Lohan to jail and house arrest and warned the actress in March to stop partying.

Lohan was on probation at the time of the accident and could face 245 days in jail if Sautner determines she violated her sentence at a later hearing.

Kid Rock Doesn’t Want You To Spoil His Performance

KidRock

Kid Rock uploaded a letter on his website that he wrote to his fans simply asking the nearly impossible favor of not ruining the surprises for anyone who cannot attend his tour.

“Dear fans and friends, Myself, the band and crew have worked harder on rehearsing and putting this tour together than any before. I want people to come and have the best time ever, be moved, motivated, touched and walk out of the show feeling GREAT! I do not want it to be spoiled for anyone attending.”

Kid Rock wants you to stop taking videos and pictures of his show because it’s no fun for him when everyone already knows what to expect.

“I have struggled with the idea of not allowing anything from this tour to be posted until AFTER it is over, probly the end of the summer / early fall. It absolutley pains me to know people can see all the suprises and different songs we have worked so hard on after the first few shows! I can NOT however bring myself to do this, as I know so many good people who can’t attend will want a little slice of the new tour, even if it is a camera phone recording with shi**y sound and video!”

While Kid Rock’s plea is understandable (and written without a spell-check), some concert goers travel far to experience the event, spend a large sum of money and will probably be drunk at the show,  a video or some pictures are all they really have left in the end.

“I will suggest however, that if you are able to come, you would not spoil it for yourself and try to refrain from, all of our addictions, to the quick satisfaction of the internet until after you have attended.”

You heard the man, we must lay off our addictions!

“We are gonna try to our hardest to post lots of goodies and insight on the road through Kidrock.com and other social media throughout the tour.We have a basic setlist outline for the tour, but will be switching up songs nightly to keep it fresh for you and for us! We are beyond excited, prepared and ready to play some music for all of yall’, Hope to see your face in the place! Happy New Year – Kid Rock.”

Try to remember this as NEBRASKAland Days rolls around. Kid Rock would appreciate it.

Chris Brown Accused Of Punching A Man

CbrownAuthorities are investigating allegations that Grammy-winning singer Chris Brown assaulted a man in a West Hollywood parking lot.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says deputies responded to a report Sunday night of six men fighting.

Witnesses told deputies that the brief fight was over a parking space.

The department says the “altercation allegedly led to Chris Brown punching the victim.”

The “victim” wasn’t identified but the celebrity website TMZ, which first reported the incident outside a recording studio, says the fight also involved Frank Ocean, a nominee in the upcoming Grammy Awards. He later tweeted that he “got jumped by (Brown) and a couple guys” and suffered a finger cut.

The department says it will contact Brown later.

Brown’s attack on singer Rihanna on the eve of the 2009 Grammy awards overshadowed the show. He was injured in a June 2012 brawl with members of hip-hop star Drake’s entourage at a New York nightclub.

Disney Officially Names Director for Next ‘Star Wars’ Film

jj-abramsIt’s official. The force is with J.J. Abrams.

The Walt Disney Co. issued a statement Friday night confirming reports that had been circulating for two days that Abrams, creator of TV’s “Lost” and director of 2009’s “Star Trek” movie, has been pegged to direct the seventh installment of the “Star Wars” franchise.

Disney said the movie will have a script from “Toy Story 3” writer Michael Arndt and a 2015 release.

Lawrence Kasdan, who wrote two of the movies in the original trilogy, will work as a consultant on the new project.

Disney bought “Star Wars” maker Lucasfilm last month for $4.06 billion.

“Star Wars” creator George Lucas said in the statement that Abrams is the “ideal choice” of director and his legacy “couldn’t be in better hands.”
