Tweet Him Up! Kobe Bryant Finally On Twitter….

Kobe Bryant is no longer a holdout. He’s on Twitter.

With five words — “The antisocial has become social” — the Los Angeles Lakers guard sent the first tweet from his account Friday. About 270,000 people followed his verified account, @kobebryant, within a few hours and he was up to 365,000 late Friday night as the Lakers played the Clippers.

Bryant tiptoed into the Twitterverse last week when he briefly took over Nike basketball’s account, when he sent out things like a photo of him hanging out with his daughter, an ice bath that he was dreading and even a suit he was wearing to a particular game.

Bryant says those few days made him consider starting his own account, saying he enjoyed connecting with fans “with no filters.”

Heat star LeBron James has 6.8 million followers, the most of any NBA player.

  • Donald Trump: “So Obama and Congress can waste billions in Iraq and Afghanistan building roads and schools but can’t get money to the NJ and NY Sandy victims?”

Paparazzo Killed Getting Shot of Bieber May Have Been a Stalker

Chris Guerra

TMZ is reporting that Chris Guerra — the paparazzo killed while trying to get a shot of Justin Bieber — was stalking the Bieb and lied about seeing him smoking marijuana while driving.

The site has multiple sources who say there’s no way Guerra could have seen Justin with a hash pipe on the freeway, because the only time he left his hotel that day was to go out to lunch in Hollywood. TMZ also claims that “well-connected sources” have said that Guerra “made Justin’s life hell…following and chasing him at every opportunity.”

Guerra was also lying, apparently, when he said that Selena Gomez’s car was parked at Justin’s hotel on New Year’s Eve. The two had a blow-out fight on Sunday in Mexico and haven’t been seen together since.

According to TMZ, Bieber didn’t like Guerra, but out of respect for the family, is reluctant to throw these details out there himself.

CELEB MEN WHO RUINED THEIR CAREER

What makes an actor go from top of the world to social pariah? Check out these once A-list celeb men who ruined their own careers:

Mel Gibson: Back in 1985, Mel became People magazine’s first ever sexiest man alive! Then, the crazy came out.

Charlie Sheen: One day he’s the highest paid actor on TV … and then he’s a warlock.

Chris Brown: He beat up his girlfriend. Enough said. Why is Rihanna back with this guy?

Tiger Woods: He became more famous for cheating than playing golf.

Michael Richards: Remember how much everyone loved Kramer? How quickly that changed after he made racist remarks to a heckler. Now you never see him anymore … except on Seinfeld re-runs.

Leadership Lincoln County Project: Volunteer Fair January 12th

Leadership Lincoln County Project Press Release:

We are excited to share a networking opportunity for nonprofit organizations and potential volunteers in the community.  As part of the Leadership Lincoln County experience, sponsored by the North Platte Chamber of Commerce, we have planned a Volunteer Fair as our small group project.  As volunteers ourselves, we value and appreciate our volunteer experiences and hope to inspire others to consider volunteerism.  We also understand the difficulty surrounding volunteer recruitment and wanted to provide an avenue to bring individuals with time and talent together with organizations needing volunteer assistance.

On Saturday, January 12, 2013 we are hosting a Volunteer Fair to be held in conjunction with sidewalk sales at Platte River Mall.  We encourage nonprofits in the area to reserve a booth at the mall to meet potential volunteers and share information about their organization.  The fair will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. throughout the center mall.  We are asking for a small donation of $10 to reserve a booth and help defray the cost of advertising and mailings.

We encourage students and community members to come to the mall to learn more about volunteer opportunities within the county.    Some of the organizations with representatives participating include CASA, RSVP, Alzheimer’s Association, and the Women’s Resource Center, just to name a few.   Opportunities abound and help is always needed.  The fair is open to anyone looking to give a little and gain a lot.

We anticipate a favorable response and hope that the fair becomes an annual event.  Please contact any of us below to reserve your booth or to answer your questions.  Booth space is limited and reservations will be granted on a first come first served basis.

Sincerely,
