Country music fans can enjoy the talent of local musician Ray Mullins who will play guitar and sing during his performance at the Whistle Stop Outdoor Market on Saturday at Garden Glove Garden Center, 1800 E. 12th Street.
During the market, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., attendees can enjoy coffee and muffins while listening to the music or browsing among numerous vendor booths. This week, the market’s ever expanding array of garden produce will include Colorado peaches and cantaloupe.

The North Platte & Lincoln County Convention & Visitors Bureau and the North Platte Recreation Center are sponsoring this family friendly movie. This is open to the public and free to attend. People are asked to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets & snacks for this family-oriented evening.
The movie “Despicable Me” will begin at dusk.

This is it! The last Fort Cody Summer Music Series of the season. This Thursday, August 9 is the Laurie Morvan Band at the N Route Entertainment Summer Music Series at Fort Cody. Concert is from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Food and drink will be available for sale at each concert. You may bring your own picnic to eat, but you may not bring your own alcohol in as per state law.

The beat goes on at Whistle Stop with Latin Jam
Each Saturday, the Whistle Stop Outdoor Market offers a new experience in entertainment and creativity.
This week, August 4, Latin Jam, a local seven-piece band, that includes a drum, three guitars, saxophone and two keyboards, will provide a lively musical fest at the market located at the Garden Glove Garden Center, 1800 E. 12th Street.

Another special feature this week is a drawing for a $40 gift certificate from Sandhills Ranchers Beef, a company that markets locally-raised beef with no artificial hormones or animal by-products.
The market, which is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., provides coffee and rolls with seating provided. Attendees also are invited to bring their own lawn chairs.
The market is an opportunity for area musicians, artists, writers, and crafters to showcase their talent and wares as well as a way for individuals and organizations to sell approved items and promote fundraising projects.
