Nebraska loses Pierson-El for 6-8 weeks with a foot injury

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska wide receiver and return specialist De’Mornay Pierson-El will be sidelined six to eight weeks after injuring a foot in practice.

Coach Mike Riley announced Wednesday that the sophomore was hurt during Tuesday’s practice. Pierson-El was second nationally in punt-return average last season, and he tied for the national lead with three returns for touchdowns. Lincoln, Neb.- The Nebraska football team continued its 2015 Fall Camp Tuesday morning, as the Huskers practiced for just over two hours inside the Hawks Championship Center. The Huskers were in full pads Tuesday, on another rainy day in Lincoln.

Bridge Named Assistant Soccer Coach

Lincoln, Neb.—Head coach John Walker announced Tuesday the hiring of former professional soccer great and Canadian National Team coach Ian Bridge as assistant coach for the Nebraska soccer team. Bridge will assist Walker in developing player skills and game strategies, while using his coaching depth to bring further experience to the program. Lincoln, Neb.- The Nebraska football team continued its 2015 Fall Camp Monday morning as the Huskers practiced inside the Hawks Championship Center and outside on the Ed and Joyanne Gass practice fields for just over two hours. The Huskers were in full pads on a rainy Lincoln day.

Huskers Complete Saturday Night Scrimmage

Lincoln, Neb.- The Nebraska football team completed another 2015 Fall Camp practice Saturday night, as the Huskers scrimmaged for just over two hours inside of Memorial Stadium on a beautiful night in Lincoln. The Huskers were split between offense and defense and ran approximately 100 plays during the scrimmage.

NU head coach Mike Riley met with media members following the scrimmage, and Riley mentioned that the scrimmage went well for both sides of the ball—but there is still room to grow. Continue reading “Huskers Complete Saturday Night Scrimmage”

Preparing for Spain

The Nebraska basketball team left Lincoln Friday morning to begin their nine-day trip to Spain. After a mid-afternoon flight from Omaha to Atlanta, the Huskers will have approximately a three-hour layover in Atlanta before departing for Madrid this evening. The Huskers will fly overnight and arrive Saturday morning (approx. 3 a.m. Lincoln time) and have a short workout to help adjust to the seven-hour time difference.
