Kansas City Chiefs LogoMINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota’s defense and rookie wide receiver Stefon Diggs bailed out Teddy Bridgewater for an erratic performance, and the Vikings held on to beat the mistake-prone Kansas City Chiefs 16-10 on Sunday.

Chiefs get Sean Smith back, lose Phillip Gaines to torn ACL

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Chiefs got Sean Smith back from his three-game suspension on Wednesday, the same day they found out that fellow cornerback Phillip Gaines will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL.

Smith’s 3 touchdown passes lead Chiefs over Texans, 27-20

Kansas City Chiefs LogoHOUSTON (AP) — Alex Smith threw for 243 yards and three touchdowns in the first half as the Kansas City Chiefs built a big lead and held on for a 27-20 victory over the mistake-prone Houston Texans on Sunday.

Smith sharp as Chiefs rout Titans 34-10 in preseason game

Kansas City Chiefs LogoKANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Alex Smith threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns in less than a half, and the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense looked the sharpest it has all preseason in a weather-shortened 34-10 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Friday night.

Chiefs hold off Seahawks 14-13 in second preseason game

Kansas City Chiefs LogoKANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and Chiefs counterpart Alex Smith struggled behind their unsettled offensive lines in Kansas City’s 14-13 preseason victory over Seattle on Friday night.

Chiefs’ Fisher limps off as team resumes training camp

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) — Chiefs left tackle Eric Fisher limped off the field early in practice Monday, the latest injury to a team that had several players dinged up in its preseason opener.

Fisher, the 2013 No. 1 overall draft pick, was hurt while blocking in a 9-on-7 drill. The third-year pro limped away from the workout, then had his shoe removed as trainers looked at his left ankle. Palmer perfect in brief return, Daniel leads Chiefs to win

Kansas City Chiefs LogoGLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona’s Carson Palmer was flawless in a brief appearance, Kansas City backup Chase Daniel threw for three touchdowns and the Chiefs beat the Cardinals 34-19 in the teams’ preseason opener Saturday night.
