The North Platte Community College Lady Knight Volleyball team will be on the road for five matches in three days.  They will first go to Beatrice to play the Southeast Community College Lady Storm in a key National Junior College Athletic Association  Region IX Division II matchup.

It was a fantastic weekend for members of the Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team. They finished second as a team during the 2015 Rail Town U.S.A. College Rodeo, Sept. 18-19 in North Platte.

Individually, Shane Weber, of Burwell, won the saddle bronc riding, and Duell Puttergill, of Tryon, finished third in the event.

Riley Weehler, of Mount Ayr, Iowa, won the tie-down roping, and Rowdy Moon, of Sargent, placed second in the bareback riding. Continue reading “MPCC represented well at hometown rodeo”

The North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team fell to the number nine rated Central Community College Lady Raiders in three sets: 25-18, 25-18 and 25-22.

The North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team will host the Central Community College Lady Raiders on September 17 at 6 pm at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium located on the South Campus of North Platte Community College.

The 2015-16 rodeo season is starting off well for the Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team. Members competed at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Rodeo in Prescott, Wis. Sept. 11-12.

The North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team went 1-3 this weekend at the Pizza Hut Invitational.

In the first game on Friday, the Lady Knights lost to Sheridan College in three sets 25-16, 25-15, 25-12.

The second game on Friday saw the Lady Knights fall in three to Trinidad State Junior College 25-17, 25-15, 25-22.  The Lady Knights were led in kills by MaKenna Ketter with eight kills Josie Palmer and Valerie Most each added six kills.  Shelby Wolever had 25 set assists and Megan Chintala had 26 digs. The North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team will travel to Sterling, Colo. this weekend to participate in the Pizza Hut Invitational, hosted by Northeastern Junior College.  The tournament will take place on September 11-12.

The Lady Knights are 6-6 on the season.  They are led in kills by Valerie Most with 117 kills and MaKenna Ketter with 107.   Shelby Wolever and Aryn Meisinger lead the team in set assists with 154 and 139 respectively. Jessica Lovitt and Samantha Morgan share the team lead in blocks with 31 each.  Megan Chintala leads the team in digs with 161. The North Platte Community College Lady Knights got back on the winning track Tuesday night by defeating the McCook Community College Lady Indians in three sets 25-12, 25-20, 25-14.

In the first set the Lady Knights jumped out to a 13-6 lead behind the serving of Megan Chintala.  The score was tied at three, Chintala had seven service points.  The Lady Knights controlled the rest of the set. Continue reading “NPCC Lady Knights Volleyball Defeat McCook”
