North Platte – The North Platte Community College Lady Knights basketball team announced the signing of Victoria Brown from Port Arthur Memorial High School in Port Arthur, Texas.

Brown, a 5’ 7” guard, played for Memorial High School, who finished 18-13 in the 2015-16 season.

Brown averaged 6.8 points per game, 1.2 assists per game, 3.1 rebounds per game and 1.4 steals per game.

Lady Knights Head Coach Richard Thurin said, “Brown shoots the three-pointer well and will help at the guard position.  She sees the floor really well.”

Brown is the fifth recruit for the Lady Knights  for the 2016-17 season.

North Platte – The North Platte Community College Lady Knights Basketball team has hired Ashley Bell as the new assistant basketball coach for the 2016-17 season. Bell was a volunteer assistant coach during the 2015-16 season for the Lady Knights.

North Platte – The Omaha World Herald has announced their spring sports All-Nebraska team.  Two North Platte Community College Knights softball players were named to the first team and four others were named honorable mention.

Sophomores Makenzi DeCrow and Sara Villalobos were selected to the first team.

North Platte – Five of the North Platte Community College Knights softball team were selected to the Region IX Division II All-Region team for the 2016 season.  Sara Villalobos, Jessica Jarvis, Samantha Gill, Samantha Foster and Shelby Belloni were each selected for the team. Two members of the Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team are now guaranteed to compete at nationals.
