Memorial Stadium Expansion Gains Steam

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) – The east side of Memorial Stadium inLincoln has been fenced off, trees have been pulled out of the wayand work has begun on the stadium expansion.     John Ingram is the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s associateathletic director for capital planning and construction. He toldthe Lincoln Journal Star that he hopes to have much of thefoundation work on the $63.5 million project done before the firsthome football game on Sept. 3.     The project will bring the total capacity to about 91,000 fans.     The project is expected to be completed before the 2013 footballseason.
