Rockies End May With Another Loss

The Colorado Rockies came into May like lions and left like lambs. A miserable month ended with a whimper in the Rockies’ 8-2 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium last night. Rockies starter Clayton Mortensen lasted just four innings, allowing five runs on five hits and four walks. Matt Kemp and Casey Blake homered for the Dodgers in the victory. The Rockies managed just five hits off Dodger hurlers Ted Lilly and Rubby De La Rosa. One of those hits was a Ty Wigginton solo homer. The Rockies utilityman has homered in both games of this series. The series concludes tonight with the third game, as the Rockies send Ubaldo Jimenez to the mound to try and stop their three-game skid. The Dodgers counter with Jon Garland. ESPN Radio 1410 has the action, with pregame coverage starting at 8:30 and the first pitch at 9:10.
