Loren Kenneth Sukraw

Loren Kenneth Sukraw, age 66, of North Platte, formerly of Maxwell, passed away July 1, 2012 at Linden Court due to complications of heart failure caused by a virus. Loren was born February 4, 1946 in North Platte to Jarold and Inez Solomon Sukraw. He grew up on the family ranch north of Maxwell and graduated from Maxwell High School in 1964. He entered the United States Army, serving in Alaska. After his discharge, he returned to Maxwell.  Loren married Cathy Zavgren on December 27, 1969. He worked for Dowhower Construction until 1980. The couple lived on the family ranch for 37 years where he ranched and did carpentry work until his retirement in 2001.

Loren was a member of the Bethel E Free Church, was an artist with his welding, creating many artistic pieces, that he mostly gave away to family and friends. He enjoyed the ranching life, especially his cattle and buffalo.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy of North Platte; two children, Laura Elizabeth Sukraw of Palm Harbor, FL and Benjamin Loren Sukraw of Lincoln; siblings, Morris (Jeanette) Sukraw of Gothenburg, Sharon (Jack) Wyttenbach of Sauk City, WI and Marilyn (Stephen) Morton of North Platte; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Carol Kieselhorst; and an infant brother, Jarold Glen.

Memorials may be made to the Bethel E Free Church and online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. at the Bethel E Free Church, 2700 West Philip Ave. with the Reverend Dan Reimer officiating. Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell with military honors graveside.

Visitation will be noon until 6:00 p.m. today and from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home.
