Another strong effort from the mound and a torrid performance from a rookie sensation propelled the Colorado Rockies to a 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers last night in Los Angeles. After four pitchers shut out the Dodgers on Monday on five hits, the Rockies used five pitchers in a four-hitter, with Josh Roenicke’s three innings of shutout relief earning him the victory. Offensively, rookie shortstop Josh Rutledge continued his hot hitting. He had four hits on the night, including three doubles, and drove in all three of Colorado’s runs. The series win for the Rockies at Dodger Stadium is a first since September of 2010. The Rockies will go for a rare road sweep of their division rivals tonight.
