Indiana and Nebraska Earn First Weekly Men’s Basketball Honors

  • Scored a game-high 28 points in Nebraska’s 79-55 season-opening win over 2013 Sweet 16 participant Florida Gulf Coast
  • Shot 61.5 percent (8-for-13) from the field and was 12-for-12 from the free throw line
  • Pulled down six rebounds and dished out three assists against zero turnovers in 35 minutes
  • His 28 points were the most by a Big Ten player during the opening weekend of the season and the most for a Nebraska player in a season opener since 2008
  • Earns his first career Big Ten Player of the Week honor

 Freshman of the Week

Noah Vonleh, Indiana

F – 6-10 – Haverhill, Mass. – New Hampton School

 Produced a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 14 rebounds in his first college game, helping Indiana post a 100-72 win over Chicago State

  • Went 5-for-5 from the free throw line and recorded three blocks in 22 minutes off the bench
  • Rebounding totals came on 11 defensive caroms and three offensive boards
  • Became the fourth freshman in the Tom Crean era to post a double-double in his first-career game, joining Tom Pritchard, Christian Watford and Cody Zeller
  • Earns his first Freshman of the Week honor
