(AP) — A shooting near the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s main campus prompted a brief alert to students, but police quickly arrested a suspect.
Police say a 26-year-old homeless man shot a relative in the leg outside an apartment that’s near UNL’s city campus on Sunday morning.
Police say the homeless man was arguing over money with his 45-year-old relative before the shooting around 8:30 a.m.
University officials sent a campus alert about the shooting after the suspect fled in a white SUV.
Police arrested the man around 11 a.m.
The shooting victim is expected to recover from his injuries.
