Kort Steele continues to shine on the golf course after winning the Junior Ambassador Tournament at Lake Maloney Golf Course.

One day after being named to the Nebraska Coaches Association All-State Boys Golf Team and less than a month after finishing fourth at the Nebraska School Activities Association Class A boys golf state championships Steele has won the Junior Ambassador Tournament in his hometown.

The golfer, Steele, just finished his freshman year at North Platte High School and won the Division 1 tournament which is for kids ages 15-18 years old. Steele won with a score of 154 over the two-day tournament. The next closest score came in Division 2 from Chesney Tatman, who shot a 160 to win his division. In Division 3 Ricky White won with a score of 191. Divisions 4 and 5 were only nine holes each day and Blake Barner won Divison 4 with a score of 91, while Max Lucas won Division 5 with a score of 89.

In the girls tournament Maaika Mestl won Divison 1 with a score of 171. There were only three girls divisions and Divisions 2 and 3 only played nine holes each day. Harley Hiltibrand won Division 2 with a score of 103 and Sydney Barner beat Abbie Jones in a playoff to win Division 3 with a score of 133.
