Storm Affiliates To Join Team During Final Month

tcstormKEARNEY, Neb. – During the final month of the regular season, the Tri-City Storm will be bringing in some of their high school affiliate players to spend time with the team in Kearney.

Among those will be defenseman Cameron Dineen, the team’s first round pick in the 2014 USHL Phase I Draft, who will be with the team for the remainder of the year.

Affiliate players are selected during the USHL Draft, but play elsewhere during the season. USHL teams maintain the rights to their affiliate players and use them to play on a part-time basis until they are ready to be placed on the roster full-time.

Dineen has spent his year with the New Jersey Rockets in the EHL, leading his team in scoring with 41 points in 39 games on 11 goals and 30 assists. A native of Toms River, N.J., Dineen is committed to play his college hockey at Yale University.

Other affiliates expected to spend time with the team during the final month of the season include Brian Hawkinson, Austen Long, Johnny McDermott, Jack McNeely, Carson Meyer, Sam Sternschein, and Bryan Yoon.

In the coming weeks, the Storm will have more information about some of their affiliate players, who are having big years on the ice in preparation for their time with the team in the USHL.

Tri-City has 11 games remaining in the 2014-15 season, and will play seven more contests in Kearney at the Viaero Event Center.

The Storm are back in action Tuesday night in Lincoln at 7:05 p.m., before returning to the VEC for a pair of games this weekend to finish their season series with both Lincoln and Omaha.

Friday night’s game with the Stars starts at 7:30, while Saturday’s tilt vs. the Lancers begins at 7:05.
