NP Woman Accused of Throwing Steel Pot at Husband

A North Platte woman is facing a felony assault charge after she allegedly threw a steel pot at her husband.

On April 5, at around 7:26 p.m., North Platte Police responded to the report of domestic violence at a residence in the 1300 block of West 9th Street.

Officers arrived an met with a 39-year-old male who alleged that his wife, 36-year-old Angelica Gray, had arrived at the residence and was angry with him.

The man claimed that Gray threw a stainless steel pot at him and struck him in the mouth.

Police say the victim had a cut lip that corroborated his allegations.

According to police, Gray had left the scene but was observed driving by in a vehicle.

An officer conducted a traffic stop near Rodeo Road and Buffalo Bill Avenue and placed Gray under arrest.

The officer spoke to Gray who denied the assault.

Following further investigation, officers determined there was probable cause to place Gray under arrest and charge her with felony 2nd degree domestic assault.

Additionally, police say two children, ages 7 and 8, were present during the assault.  As a result, Gray was also charged with two counts of child abuse.

She was jailed at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
