Gloria Kathleen Parr, 89 years, of North Platte, NE, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Linden Court in North Platte.

Gloria was born August 27, 1925, to Samuel Sigsbee and Ruth Janette Decker Scott in North Platte where she grew up and attended school. On June 24, 1942, Gloria married Paul Eugene Parr in North Platte where they made their home. Gloria stayed home to raise the children and later helped Paul in Parr’s Grocery Store for 10 years. After Paul passed away in 1985 Gloria continued to live at home until moving to Linden Court in 2011 from Centennial Park Retirement Village.

She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. Gloria was an avid bowler and bowled on the Grandma’s League. She also liked to read, play cards and go to Cody Park. Most importantly, Gloria loved her family and cherished her time with them.

She is survived by her children, Rick (Sharron) Parr, of Sutherland, NE, and Lisa (Dale) Bringewatt and Lorrie (Garry) Howard, of North Platte; and 14 grandchildren; Scott (Susan) Parr, Allen Parr (Rhonda Castillo), Leigh Anne (Tim) Hoatson, Steve (Jennifer) Parr, Stacie (John) Simeone, Brandon Bringewatt, Derek (Angie) Bringewatt, Casey Bringewatt, Jeffrey (Devon) Griffiths, Sarah (Damon) Schulz, Lindsey Griffiths, Joseph (Heather) Howard, Lisa (Nate) Reiter and Lori (Arlyn) Wood.

Survivors also include 27 great-grandchildren, Keegan, Skyler and Sadie Parr, Katana (Ryan) Tillman, Shianne and Gracey Hoatson, Brianna, Ava and Sophie Parr, Justin and Philip Parr, Danica Simeone, Coy Bringewatt, Karson and Kane Griffiths, Jace, Jossalynn and Avery Schulz, Beau Howard, Bryce and Kaymbree Reiter, Taylor Kleinow and Brandy, Ethan, Nathan, Mason and Kaleb Wood; 2 great great-granddaughters, Brynleigh and Bradleigh Tillman; and several nieces, nephews and other family.

Along with her husband, Paul, Gloria was preceded in death by their son, Terry Parr; two sisters, Doris Parr and Beverly Starke; and her parents, Samuel and Ruth Scott.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2015, at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore with Rev. Dr. Douglas A. Delp officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday with family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore which is in charge of arrangements.
