GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (AP) — A 49-year-old Grand Island man has been charged Friday in Hall County Court with seven counts of sexual assault on a child.

The man was in Hall County Court on Friday, when his bond was set at $100,000. He remained jailed Saturday.

Prosecutors say the man had sexual contact with a child younger than 14 between 2002 and May of this year. He’s also charged with one count of first-degree sexual assault of a child for raping a child younger than 12 sometime between February 2009 and February 2011.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 27.
