Wright Promoted to VP of Business Operations

dana wrightKEARNEY, Neb. – The Tri-City Storm have announced the promotion of Dana Wright to Vice President of Business Operations, effective immediately.

The position will oversee all day-to-day office operations for the hockey team, including marketing, promotions, gameday operations, merchandising and part-time employees.

Wright has been with the team in various capacities since 2008, previously serving in roles as the Vice President of Marketing and Merchandising, Financial Director/Graphic Artist, Corporate Sales Associate and Maintenance Staff.

“There is nothing more gratifying than watching a member of your staff grow into a team leader,” said team owner Kirk Brooks. “Dana has been with our Storm family for eight years and each year has always sought to expand his responsibilities. I am happy to promote him to Vice President of Business Operations, and welcome him to the inner circle of our Storm leadership team.”

A native of Albion, Neb., Wright graduated from the University of Nebraska-Kearney in 2008 with a degree in business administration and marketing.

“I’ve been with the organization for over eight years and I’m very excited as this is the pinnacle of where I’ve wanted to be,” Wright said. “I’ve been a hockey fan since I was 5-years-old and to be able to spend every day overseeing the aspects of this operation is a dream come true. I’m extremely thankful to Mr. Brooks for his confidence in me for this position.”

“The staff that we have with the Storm as well as the Event Center is made up of great individuals and it’s a joy to come to work every day because of the people I work with.”

The 30-year-old recently contributed to the USHL’s coverage of the 2015 NHL Draft in Florida, overseeing the league’s graphics and social media accounts.

“Greg Shea was a huge mentor for me in my professional career and with his departure it has definitely been a transition,” said Wright. “But I believe this organization is stronger on both the hockey side and business side than it’s ever been and the future looks bright.”

Tri-City Storm season tickets for the 2015-16 season are on sale now and can be purchased by calling the Viaero Event Center Box Office at 308.338.8011.
