Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. was named the Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Armstrong shared the award with Indiana running back Jordan Howard.

The weekly honor was the first of Armstrong’s career. A Husker was named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks, as junior I-back Terrell Newby shared the honor on Sept. 14.

Armstrong set a career high with 431 yards of total offense in Nebraska’s 36-28 win over Southern Miss. He completed 23-of-35 passes for 368 yards and two touchdowns, while carrying the ball seven times for 63 yards and one score.

Through four games this season, Armstrong has accounted for 1,384 yards of total offense. He has thrown for 1,266 yards and 11 touchdowns, while adding 118 rushing yards. Armstrong leads the Big Ten in completions per game (22.3), passing touchdowns, passing yards, passing yards per game, total offense and points responsible for (76). He ranks in the top 10 nationally in passing yards (8th), points responsible for (9th) and total offense (10th).
