Kearney, Ne. – The Tri-City Storm have acquired a fifth-round, Phase I draft pick in the 2016 USHL Entry Draft from the Des Moines Buccaneers in exchange for defenseman James Gobetz, Head Coach and General Manager Bill Muckalt announced Sunday.

“We would like to thanks James for his contributions to our organization,” said Muckalt. “We wish him luck in his hockey career and in his future endeavors.”

Gobetz, 19, skated in three Storm preseason games in 2015-16, recording one shot on goal with an even plus-minus rating. The 6-foot-3, 195-lb. defenseman played against the Buccaneers in a Sept. 5 preseason scrimmage.

The Storm have started the regular season with three straight wins, the best start for the team since 2003-04, when the club won four straight games to open the campaign.

Next weekend, Tri-City hosts the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders on Free Kids Friday, October 9, at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, October 10, at 7:00 p.m., catch the Storm on “Huskers Night” and grab a Coca-Cola Family Four Fourpack, with four tickets for $40 plus four cokes, four hot dogs and four bags of chips.
